Just something to add to reading list

I've seen this more in gaming (as someone mentioned, Warhammer and Warhammer 40K both deal with this; also there is the TSR sub-setting of a sub-setting, Ravenloft: Masque of the Red Death where a force called The Red Death has so entwined itself with magic that to use it is to court disaster)...

    Weight of Mythos

You can't - not quickly. It took about a decade for the Cthulhu Mythos to become a "thing" - and that was after it's originator, H. P. Lovecraft (who, himself, called it the Yog Sothoth Cycle) was dead for a few years and several other authors had written stories in this now-shared mythos...

    Please Destroy My Novel's Cover

So just where exactly IS Elvis leading the Office Worker and the Artist girl?

Two stories at once, or just one?

As an aside, in Between Worlds, I have about five stories running parallel. Three of them I tend to follow for a chapter or two and then switch to another one (usually to catch them up), one I keep dropping hints and even full scenes from without actually advancing that plot, just how it might...

    The colour of our god!

Hmm. And here I was expecting Octarine. Or maybe The Colour out of Space.

Two stories at once, or just one?

I would suggest writing both out, and deciding based on what you had the most fun with when you went back in to do revisions. If both "threads" still excite you, keep them; if not, drop the one you don't care much for and summarize those events when they come together - and maybe, if you can't...

Webnovel Feedback Roasts For the Fearless

My wife was listening to a webnovel that made this work, at least through step 3 (as far as I listened to it) - God Among Men. But it is very tricky (it opened with the guy doing impossible stuff in a car that was rigged to kill him - then had a short flashback showing PART of what got him...

    Magic World without Cultivation

Depends on the story though - Jack Diamond never gets (nor asks for) any explanations (if I get that far there will be SOME in book four... but only some)... Kelly needed to know a little of it in Strange Awakening (and in book two, finds out some of what she was told is wrong...; ironically...

Is writing a 'science' or 'art'

But that kind of trial and error, exploring the "rules of writing" (especially of genre writing), essentially IS science, even if not formal, methodical scientific study.

Dungeon Core is Super Hero world

Ah, in that context, I've seen two stories described as such but have not read them (one specifically as a dungeon core in the Marvel universe - but from the perspective of the character who became the core)... Need to hunt. Likely someone else will be able to find them before I can.

    Recommendations Good read ?

Define "some smut" - two of mine (Between Worlds, Strange Awakening) dance around "smut" without ever, IMO, really diving into it...

    Thoughts on RPG Systems...

So much hate for RPG systems... glad I haven't posted mine then.

Do you speak with 'the Writers Spirit's or with your personal spirit?

And yet... what are you doing in this thread BUT writing, using language to express ideas, to show your passion for said ideas? Twain was an irascible, cantankerous cuss who took very little seriously EXCEPT writing, and it showed in everything he did. I don't know anything about Grandma Moses...

Is writing a 'science' or 'art'

Unless you're doing purely technical writing, it should, nay MUST, be both.

So what, something like "My Hero Academia" visits Arcade's Murderworld (Marvel Comics)?

Sounds almost like a "soul fusion" of sorts.

Do you speak with 'the Writers Spirit's or with your personal spirit?

It often feels like I'm given a glimpse of another world where this could be happening or did happen, and feel a need to share what I've seen. Guess that's "other"

Which of your character/s would you like to hang out with and why?

Really any of them but Jack Diamond (he smokes too much). Though, perhaps the most interesting one would be Leonard Guerin/Elgarin the Betrayer just because he's so odd...

Offering a free cover for my debut post!

Very cool... only story I'd be tempted to put out for this is not posted anywhere yet, though (then again, not averse to having better "candidate covers" but will stand aside and let the "uncovered" get their shot!). Good luck to anyone participating.
