Yeah, on my hard drive with only three chapters completed... though one of the mummies IS a necromancer...

    Book Idea (Looking for Feedback)

Sounds a bit like a modern (or perhaps postmodernist?) take on Dante's Inferno.

    Non-Fiction Genre?

I know someone who published a "non-fiction role-playing game" (The Unexplained) based on paranormal investigations (even attended some ghost hunts with the real group that the Ghost Hunters show started out belonging to and sometimes calls in for back-up on investigations). It's a difficult...

Intergalactic Game/Reality Show: Good or Bad?

Again, sounds like a cool idea, but I would hesitate to have it affect the entire world. Partly because, when the game is over, the survivors would have to deal with no longer being part of the society they were plucked from (and the world would have to deal with THEM as well). I could see the...

Intergalactic Game/Reality Show: Good or Bad?

The concept seems a bit too broad - perhaps just a single small town (though that would probably wind up being similar to the old Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" or maybe "Under the Dome," depending on how it plays out) instead of the whole world?

    Lowest K/D ratio

It specifically says "duel" - one on one or any formal combat he automatically loses, either due to quirks of fate, or better skill from the opponent or whatnot. It sounds like informal fights he can win, as he can win fights against unintelligent opponents but as soon as the foe is able to...

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

I find my slight hearing disorder makes me need audio files with subtitles... and what is an audionovel with subtitles?

Harem stories where the girls aren’t bisexual

Well, it does have straight female MCs at least... and a hockey team... at least from the series summary (each book has a different female MC involved with the team, apparently, and most end up with one to three of the male athletes in a committed relationship with the lead)

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

Now I'm even more depressed that all the used book stores in the area went out of business, the last one during COVID... :( At least most of the stuff I've been looking for lately (mostly Raymond Chandler and Damon Runyon) is $0.99 - $1.99 on Kindle...

Harem stories where the girls aren’t bisexual

Just realized a popular author on Substack does a lot of Reverse Harem stories (all on Amazon for about $5 each). If that sounds interesting, I can go get her name and some titles with about a three minute search.

    Lowest K/D ratio

Does it have a personification in setting? If so, then yes, of not then no, unless you also believe a gun, a knife or a bottle of toxins counts as "an assist"

I may have asked before but anyone thought of side stories?

I keep thinking some support characters deserve side stories - but some of them (e.g. The Crimson King or even Equinox in Strange Awakening) are only support or "tier 2 lead" characters because I am not sure I could write them well enough to justify more than that!

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

Full sized paperbacks ($20? Wow - I stopped buying new ones when the average price was $9.50). sure, but these were pocket-sized. I don't think I could read the print today - did not need reading glasses back then, though.

Busy characters! 0/0/1 if unassisted, 1/1 if assisted I think.

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

I even tried to be part of a company that wanted to bring back "Dime Novels" (except they were $1.99 USD) - about 200 quarter-page wood pulp pages in a glossy light card-stock jacket with lurid covers that looked like 50s-70s paperbacks, only smaller. Company got one wave of books out and then...

    Lowest K/D ratio

So far most of my villains have 0/1 or 1/1... though Hellhound (aka Hellbulldog aka Heckpuppy) stands at a whopping 0/2 "on screen" with at least two more losses offscreen... Ah, and Lady Ebon currently (as of chapter 41) stands at 1/1/1 - though the win was before the start of Strange...

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

Hmm - coincidentally I picked up Pulp Cthulhu at a local game store today and it has a history of the pulps. They started in 1896, when Frank A. Munsey retooled The Argosy magazine from a glossy periodical with some news, some fiction and a lot of reprinted photos into a wood-pulp magazine with...

Are Webnovelists the Modern Pulp Fiction Writers?

IIRC, the specific term "Penny Dreadful" was usually reserved for the horror or .... well... smut books. The forerunners of the pulp fiction "movement." There were also adventure books and others (including most of Charles Dickens's longer stories) that were published in this serial format...
