To Those Who Write Fight Scenes...

Think about what you're trying to say with the fight scene. Action sequences can be a great way to show character, background, growth, or regression without a single line of exposition. Does the meek one suddenly go feral? Why? Just how deadly is your heavy hitter? Are they happy about it...

Without spoiling anything, post one joke thats in your story today

It's not actually in the story yet, but I realized it sounded too much like an Isekai title to not post it: "My wife is a thirteen-billion-year-old sun with a congenital chill deficiency and an incurable case of the zoomies."

what's your favorite aspect when you are writing?

Dialogue, hands down. Specifically my deuteragonist, she's my id and gets to say all the things I want to say.

Recommendations Recommend me some SH books to read! (Round 2)

I'm pretty late to the thread but I thought I'd throw my hat in. I think the books in my sig align well with what you mentioned in the OP: soft, cute romance - this is mostly subtextual, but what's there is pretty cute comedy with deadpan humor - I learned my sense of humor from Pratchett...

Adult vs Mature vs Smut. What's the difference?

It's all in how you use the feather: Mature - She danced for her lover with feather fans Adult - She straddled her lover on a feather bed Smut - She teased her lover's body with a feather BANNED - That chicken has seen some shit

Well someone's about to be disappointed...

"Sex gauntlet". I'm picturing either two rows of people beating someone with dildos or a glove with some interesting finger attachments.

Well someone's about to be disappointed...

I use a D&D battle map + minis to help me write fight scenes so I can keep track of who is where and doing what. I feel like I'd need something similar to keep track of who is on what and doing whom in this scenario. The real problem is the canon orientations. I have two constipated disaster...

Well someone's about to be disappointed...

Ohhh...sucks to be them I guess. "Algorithm" is an ancient arabic word for "wild-ass guess". True story. That's so sweet that you think anybody listens to me. Love that for us.

Well someone's about to be disappointed...

Woke up this morning to see this on the referral stats for Break Through: To be clear, there are no threesomes in this book nor is it tagged with "threesome" so IDK how that even happened but someone had a disappointing read.

    Worst experience as a writer?

The experience of the deafening, gaping, cavernous silence after talking into the void and hearing nothing back. But then again I haven't been mobbed either so I guess it could be worse?
