    Writing Does NOT Equal Endorsment!

he's interesting to read about, if you can find stuff that gets past the whole wartime hype. weird facts... he liked american cinema movies. He used to throw lavish parties, to show his films off. his favorites? Shirley Temple. I mean, its hard to get your head around. its freaking hitler, the...

Writing How do you choose/find titles for your chapter?

I guess I've done similar to what others above me said. I do remember one person saying though, they hate it when the chapter name lets them know what's going to go on. So I would try to be artful, ambiguous, something like that. Then, with one recent work? I abandoned the whole chapter names...

Please stop replying to me, please. I cannot divert my focus elsewhere, what the fuck?!

Now *where* have I heard that tag line, on some other website.

    Story sharing.

go on. I feel I need to know more about this plot, to make a more informed editorial decision. so, you were saying... I was given three chappies to read now. The completely "over, the, top" saccharine sweetness of the little girl dealing with mommy, is just cuteness overload. Its like a basket...

What do you think of this plotline, or story premise?

I lost a hard drive a ways back. I used to have a meme that went around. It was just one of those weird comic books? Anime, manga, whatever you call that stuff. Anyways, it was a 4 panels comic. The adult brought home a "milk maid". For his teenage son. She was for... cooking, cleaning, and of...

How to make a story really depressing in reality, but still be up-lifting and somewhat comedic?

real life people that work bad jobs. Ambulance drivers, murder scene investigators, etc. They actuallky engage in gallows humor, just like portrayed in popular books and movies. One of the few things that hollyweird and writers, get right. A real life ambulance driver, related to me. Yeah, we...

    Gay Characters in Fiction

True story. I was (over?) writing a big investigation novel. Anyways, I always like to turn a trope on its head when I can. Now then, in absolutely *any* two buddies investigating movie, there just HAS to be the strip club. There's always a stripper, who just *happens* to have all the perfect...

Warning to all Authors, do not fall victim to "professional editors."

I was promised "art hoes" when I became a writer. (I was told these are like groupies.) when do I get these. Maybe that's what the offers to meet up in discord are then. hmm... they just don't wanna appear too eager. I mean, they are raving about my work. Then wanting to meet with me. just...

Is this good as a start point?

Dammit. I have a character in a series of my own novels. Her sports nickname was "Little Lightning", and most people call her simply "Light". can I claim this as fanfiction of my work? lol. on second thought? I'm going to s-u-e you. for... one, *gajillion* dollars. but? act now, and for a...

Warning to all Authors, do not fall victim to "professional editors."

oh. Mine? I get a lot of the "you write in such a vivid cinematic style, I can just visualize your scenes". And, they can "see" my story as a graphic novel. LMAO. of course, they wanna talk about it. On discord. not my first rodeo. Went thru this on two other WN sites. yah, my first one of...

    Thinking about a cover.

meh. just seeing if there was anything else I could do with the top/bottom titling space. the gray granite sits "back" letting the image ride forwards. This "lava" rides top, making the image sunken back in. maybe with side strips lava too, I dunno. Just playing. Hm. Maybe better with sides as well.

op? just write a chapter. you have literally, nothing to lose.

    Thinking about a cover.

Hm. I came into this thread, figuring I had this pretty much nailed down. Whatever else? I got that cover image solved, all I need to worry about is what space at the top/bottom to create for titling, and just the hand-wringing over font. I was dismissing Daeron's suggestion out of hand. What...

    Thinking about a cover.

Where would you want the title. maybe double the stone face granite all at the bottom, and title/author both down there. or what. I'm just playing around with it. what were you thinking.

    How to make friends?

OP. you seem to be... studying this. Like its some kind of project. which is okay, I can dig that. I forget who the quote is properly attributed to, but... "friendship is that by which we undertake to exchange small favors for large ones" For instance... a small smart guy, and bigger less than...
