You're telling me you wouldn't be able to make a revolver out of stone and raw, unprocessed ores? Isn't it obvious that you can use any barrel and metal for a chamber without it blowing up the gun?
Oh what that's that? You can't make a Main Battle Tank with this modern schematic I pulled out my...
The anime. Season 2. I should've clarified. One of the best I've seen. Reminded me alot of Aldnoah Zero without all the weird villains popping up every 3 pico seconds, and better emotional drive overall. Hiroyuki Sawano slayed with the music in BOTH as well.
Yeah. I loved it so much. It's one...
Honestly, there isn't anything wrong with implementing things from other stories. 'Just focus on your story' is honestly easier said than done, because in truth, it's very easy to get swept in by other stories. Hell, I watched a few episodes of some dumb anime and I was like "Damn, I'm already...
I don't recommend going over 4k, when that can easily be split into 2, 3, hell, even 4 chapters. It's really in your best interest to have chapters in the 1k-2k range to not feel too long or too short. Plus, you can write more chapters that way!
Why not both? Crystal races are awesome. You can have the rough-skinned reptiles be above ground, and the crystal ones can be subterranean, but need sun exposure to recharge their crystal form. Would cool to see a crystal variant of lizards living right under the noses of the normal lizards.
Love your story. Make a world you love rather than the characters first. Fall in love with your story. Kiss your story. Make out with your story. Have kids with your story. Love the characters in your story.
Then be sad that they're not real. So go back to loving your story, which is real.
I guess one thing I'd add is something about the world and the setting. It's hard to tell what the setting is aside from the first being a fantasy (although homeless makes me think it's an urban fantasy). And the second made me think it was also a fantasy with 'mansion' and 'demons' until I...
At the end of the day, it's up to you as the Author to disguise the order of events as luck. Convince your readers that it arbitrary, but you do actually control how things go. I wouldn't rely on physically flipping a coin to determine the direction of your story.
E.g. You want to show that the...
I love confectionery but despise the store-bought stale ones. Ergo the hockey puck cakes, or the golfball cupcakes, rubber doughnuts, sahara desert-dry lammingtons.
I uh... have a 1 million word minecraft FF about the mobtalker mod. But it's genderbender :s_frown:.
I recommend just combing through the Fanfiction site till you find something you like. Faster than getting a recommendation here. There's thousands of minecraft-related fanfics.
You might enjoy...
Maybe it disappeared. Could be Mandela effect (if you believe in it). Or maybe you're part of an experiment like the Truman Show, and that note would have given away that you're actually living inside of a TV show as the MC.
The hardest part will be how you're going to fill in that great nothing in a sea of sand. Both are pretty tough to live in, so you gotta weigh up if you want a big civilization or lots of tiny ones. Wildlife is a big thing too, and since it's a fantasy setting, you can chuck in all kinds of...
Please go ahead! I'd love to have a look at yours when it's done as well.
Nothing I like more than combing through wikis. Half of the things I read are on wikis anyway, like the Warhammer: 40K wiki or the SCP one. Endless things to look at!
Yes, 100%. If there's anything I know that I and people love reading, it's stuff like codexes, wikis, glossaries. It's honestly one of the best ways to world build and gets both you and readers invested in the world. I remember combing through the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R wiki loving the anomalies...
From the start to finish for mine:
1. Title
- Brainstorm the title. This took an absurdly long time for me, because this was really the wrong way to go about it. The title should have come last in the planning stage in my opinion.
As a result, this step was combined with step 2.
2. Major...
"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." (Fallacy and derogatory)
I love Nurse teachers/professors. They practice what they preach, and I have so much respect for them.
