Writing How do you guys persist on creating another chapter?

I had the same issue with an old story. The trick is finding a standout inspiration. It can be a game, anime, TV show, music even. That was straight up the strongest motivator that worked for me and I've been consistently churning out chapters once every 1-2 days for the last 6 months on top of...

    Need Inspirational Song

But Mr. Blue Sky would be my first choice.

What are some songs that tell a clear story?

Most songs with lyrics from Hiroyuki Sawano. The lyrics tell a story relating to their shows in some way.

    How would've you described this

Rings of irises creating the illusion of a well. A deep crimson welled in the centre, mellowing into a vibrant blue towards the edges. The deeper one stared, the further that abyss seemed to stretch. Or: It was like an eye within an eye. Sitting deeper beyond the blue rings laid a second...

Reincarnated in a fantasy world: would you rather...?

    1. Human appearance. Absolute Lovecraftian horror underneath or when called upon. 2. Adult. A lot of the isekai's I like did start from being a baby, but I still greatly prefer an adult start.

Writing Thought bubble for the voice in the head

I just put everything internal in italics. If someone else is speaking internally to the MC, then it's in italics and quotation marks. E.g - Normal - "Why are you offering me skewers? I hate them." MC - But man... Those skewers do look good. A separate internal voice/not MC's - "Then just...

Anime OSTs and how they make you feel

Anything from Hiroyuki Sawano is an instant hit. 86 Eighty Six, AOT, Guilty Crown, Gundam, Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress. The list goes on with this guy.

    I started a chapter with:

"Have you heard of the Demon who travelled far away from home? (Intro ends in) ."Regions she thought were only just fairytales… because they were told by Fairies. Get it? Fairy tale? Or is it a Fairy’s tale?”

What makes a miracle in story feels earned?

No, never changed my name at all. Been like this for as long as I've been inhaling and exhaling O2 from the atmosphere of our planetary mass.

What makes a miracle in story feels earned?

Storywise, I think it's how its set up that matters the most. Like the events beforehand that elude to said miracle or makes it much more believable. I think that's what separates a miracle into either a hype af moment/believable/earned vs a total lazy cop out.

    Leveraging Real Life into Stories

Emotions 100% give life to characters, including grief. It sort of grounds the story to reality and makes us really care and empathise with the character. If they can overcome it as well, then that's a wonderful character arc/development. And I hope you're doing ok!

Fantasy Action Opinion: Most Important Role/Class In Teamplay

I think something like a hunter or a role that can detect weaknesses in monsters. A really careful party that would otherwise have no way of beating said monster will have a fighting chance if they prepare accordingly to whatever they're up against. A clever person with this role can probably...

Writing Prompt As the snow fell, swirling around in the sharp and frigid air, I saw…

As the snow fell, swirling around in the sharp and frigid air, I saw a halo from beyond the fog. It looked like eyes but I couldn't really tell. Then it started bouncing towards me. I couldn't be more relieved to realise that it was nothing but a ball. It emerged from the fog and rolled to my...

Why is my novel isn't showing on ranking or in recent upload list?

Trending changes daily, and depending on how you sort the popular ranking (i.e, daily or weekly), then it's also going to change when the next cycle hits.

Have you seen a real doppelganger of yourself?

One time I was window with some mates to find a nice restaurant to eat at. One of the buildings had a super reflective window (and for some reason, they put the signage inside...). One of my genius mates were instantly pointing out how the guy inside looked just like me. Unsurprisingly, that was...

What do you think about when doing mindless work?

Imagine/daydream of scenarios from games, own works or other things in general. If I for example played Stellaris or Rimworld recently, then you bet I'm going to be playing out some of those events like a cinematic blockbuster in my head. Case and point, I like to imagine Rimworld [REDACTED]...

The unpopular types of undead that could be used in fantasy novels

Fungal-based zombies. Have a beautiful biome teeming with giant mushrooms (to lure the unsuspecting adventurers). Have the people walk in normally, then walk out with a giant mushroom tube growing straight out of their heads. Can even dial the horror to 10 and have them climb and rest their...
