    In first-person perspective, you're forced to narrate through the character's head, body, and senses. Therefore, first POV is ideal for developing character depth. On the other hand, first POV is inherently weak in worldbuilding because you can only narrate as far as the character perception. Therefore, this perspective is less suitable for fast-paced action and epic battles.

    Imagine a fiction that makes you laugh on the surface (because of the absurd comedy), in the middle layer (the fictional message) makes you crying (because the scenes contain a relatable moral message), in the hidden layer it makes you shiver (because of the dark psychological thriller twist).

    That's not true. I've deleted my status and answers several times because they could potentially offend others, regardless of whether they were true or not. You can't please everyone. It's better to just be honest with yourself.

    One thing about tags, readers don't remember your character's identity or mannerisms as much as you. If we stop reading and come back later, it will be harder to know who's speaking even if they have a unique voice without tags. I think said and asked should be encouraged for new writers especially. It will help them get a feel for more impactful dialogue.

    Today... I learned: reader validation makes your fiction more likely to be popular. However, author validation makes your fiction more likely to be worth reading. If a writer is chasing popularity, then do more market research, promotions and reader testimonials. If a writer is looking for narrative (artistic) quality, then learn from other (established) authors!

    A common mindset mistake writers make is confusing narrative quality with popularity. Studying creative writing doesn't guarantee popularity, even if they graduate with a degree in literature. But it's entirely possible for them to write quality fiction (literary).

    Align expectations and process. Learn creative writing. The result will be the ability to write fiction.

    Very true. But. I would say that there are a handful of basic "marketing" things that authors should engage in despite their writing skill

    Good shock value should make the reader feel like, "D*mt it! He did that crazy thing?! I totally missed the hint in the first chapter."

    Not like, "Why did he suddenly do this crazy thing?! There was no hint, he was always portrayed as kind." :blob_melt:

    I tend to block out anything that makes a narrative less interesting to me. If you tell me the end, my brain erases it automagically. Unless it's really vague, I didn't mind the little statement at the start of Boku no Hero.

    There were so many characters and such scale there were unlimited possible outcomes for what the ending would look like.
