A common misconception about "show it, don't tell it" is that provides super-detailed chapter that ruins the pacing.

Writing details isn't the same as showing; telling can be super-detailed.

Showing is about leaving interpretation to the reader by providing narrative clues or necessary information.

A good narrative is not a narrative that makes the reader remember all the characters in one reading, but rather makes the reader understand who the MC is, who the antagonist is, who the supporting characters are, what they are doing because of the related conflicts in their world.

In limited third POV, the narrator follows the MC and shows what the MC is experiencing 'subjectively'. The reader can feel the MC's breath without becoming the MC.

In omniscient third POV, the narrator acts as a camera that shows the scene 'objectively' like a film director who directs what the audience can see from a scene? The reader feels like a cinematic film audience.

In a traditional novel, a reader starts to read from page 1. In a web novel, a reader can start from any chapter. The implication?

A author can't always rely on the context of previous chapters. Every chapter should be able to stand alone or be thematically connected in a series if it's intended to be reader-friendly, especially for causal readers.

Without a unique identity... name is just an empty label. Can you distinguish a character just by their name if there are five similar names in a chapter?

Unique character identity leaves an impression on the reader's perception.

The identity of a cunning pirate with a toothless who laughs "zehaha..." is easier to visualize and remember than the mere name Marshall D. Teach.

The author knows everything (about their story)... but the reader only knows what narrative the author provides.
