  • My reading and writing habits have been influenced by my personal preferences...

I only write fiction that I enjoy. I only read fiction that I enjoy. I only review fiction that I enjoy.

I'm as picky as a little girl is about her food.
Well, those who claim to be "good collaborators" can flood the fiction comment sections. But don't expect to be free here. Why? Because we are watching you!

Have you ever wanted to kill off a character? However, the narrative allowed the character to develop organically, and then you felt sorry for her/him and thought, "This character didn't deserve to die like that." Finally, you decided against killing her/him, at least for now.

Almost every time I kill off a character.

Isn't this the plot of scribblehub high school fic?

Yes. Except, at the "Finally" part I still pull the plug. o7
i think ending a fully fleshed out character hurts, making it more meaningful, and sadder than ending random red shirt guy number forty eight.
Now ending the dog in a story, no matter what doggo... eek. No. I won't add pets into stories. people delete their gaming careers over that kind of stuff.
Narrating life experiences into bedtime stories for children may be a good medium for educating children while strengthening the relationship between parents and their children.
People tremble, shiver, fear, and think of omens just by hearing an owl or a crow at night.

To me, it's a beautiful nighttime melody... a sign of nature's health. When else can I enjoy the night accompanied by the sounds of nature?
Something about seeing your messages becoming more casual recently (using the words “dude,” “goat”) is like watching an android learning to become human. ??
    Wow... I can't believe I've already reached 1000 messages.
Does anyone else have the same problem as me?

After writing an epic battle (e.g., kaiju vs. kaiju), you're satisfied, then stop for a few days because your creative energy is depleted.

And you're burdened with the expectation of writing even more epic scenes for the next battle, especially when the stakes are higher.
Someone mocked the author as someone who likes to imagine and daydream, even though he himself still watches Hollywood, anime, and urban legends.

Maybe he doesn't realize... the authors have lived since ancient times and built civilization through myths, legends, and folk tales.
Sometimes I miss... and want to read emotional stories. Like Kaori's final letter to Arima and Frodo and Sam's final journey on Mount Doom. It's a shame that fiction these days rarely showcases the emotional and human side. I want fiction that can make me cry.

Last one with a good amount of emotion was of the Avatar series "The Legacy of Yangchen." But that was a different sort of emotional situation, lots of atrocities and trauma. I won't spoil what really was going on, but it is one of those scenarios where the villain of the story saw someone he cared and loved, the male lead, being harmed and he went nuts on the attacking party. :blob_sweat:
Three humane responses when the protagonist faces danger or an antagonist that is too strong: flight, fight, or freeze.
Three chapters until the epilogue... I'm tired, my creativity is limited, time is limited, everything is limited... but I have to finish this fiction (at least volume 2 at this point). Because a good fiction is one that provides an ending.
A few people commit serious offenses, and then people with the same identity are punished collectively in the name of deterrence. What brilliant logic!
Good (not best) fiction is fiction that touches the reader's emotions. Often what readers care about is not the fiction's deep thematics, original premises, complex characters, living world, or suspenseful plots, but rather the most basic thing: touching the reader's emotions.

Well, I'm not a fan of the fiction you mentioned... but to be fair, we're only discussing it from the perspective of reader psychology. And yes, it does fulfill the reader's most primitive emotional needs, a topic often considered taboo in society: sexuality.

There's nothing inherently wrong with wish fulfilment in fantasy, unless it turns the characters into nebulous hollow nothings to be filled by the reader. My wish is to experience a greater spectrum of humananity, since I can't be or do everything in one lifetime.

@JayMark Well, we should learn to embrace the positive side to formulate better stories. Imagine fiction that touches readers' emotions, becomes popular, and has a depth of content worth reading and leaves a lasting impression as a masterpiece. Wouldn't that be great fiction? I know it's not easy... but there's nothing wrong with hoping to write better fiction.
Has anyone experienced the same problem as me? My laptop crashed badly. The screen went black even after restarting. Last activity: opening Chrome, then the GPU suddenly crashed. Note: I'm using Ubuntu OS.

After a few hours of cooling... the laptop returned to normal. I was traumatized by Chrome and switched to Mozilla.:blob_shock:
Sometimes I want to write a truly good antagonist narrative that provides inspiration and hope. Writing an antagonist, villain, or anti-villain is too dark, too tiring, and makes me feel bad. However, if the antagonist is a hero, then the aura is uplifting.

Well, Alice-chan is a heroine antagonist character who is too good for the dark world.

She is like an angel descended from heaven, just by her presence making those around her feel safe and peaceful. She is a light that is a disaster in a dark world.

In terms of character design, she is a synthesis of various shounen hero tropes, classic knights, and chosen ones.

However, Alice-chan (the Knight Princess) will never be the protagonist... because the protagonist (FMC) always belongs to a wounded mother, Marry El Rose (the Blood Rose Princess).
