A description narrative is considered "decoration" or empty setting when its presence or absence doesn't affect the story and/ or simply adds to the word count. Therefore, every descriptive narrative should have a functional purpose and/ or add "value" to the story.

It's the 35th anniversary of Spiderland by Slint. Actually it was yesterday, but whatever

One of my favorite albums of all time. Very idiosyncratic in its sound. Haunting, creepy crawly vibes. Like a Spider. land.

But this song in particular is strangely nostalgic. It's just about a guy who goes to the carnival and bags a fortune teller chick and takes her on a date. It doesn't let up on the tension and the uncanny, angular guitar riffs though
