Even good decisions can have bad consequences.

(I actually write a small moral that's specific for each Act. This one is just the main idea.)

Almost all of Ai-chan's stories have the following message:

Be grateful of what you have because there are others suffering a lot more than you.

I have never written long fiction with any intentional moral lesson, unless "Here, be entertained for a bit" counts. Anything else is what the reader brought into it.

Most of what you know and believe is a lie and you must do whatever necesary to survive, being noble is a luxury when you are weak.

For my main series: A lesson against skewed data sets and paternalistic AIs, with a side of the way to hell is paved with the best of intentions, coupled with found family vibes and finding silver linings in the darkest of circumstances.

For my newer one: you are more than what has been done to you. Survival is not shameful, and you are worthy of love, no matter how little of your humanity you cling to.

Life is absurd, acquiring more power is absurd, so live a life you want like Ichiro.
