Whats the workflow you're using here?
Workflow? I just ask chat gtp for edit suggestions and then go in to edit the scenes if I like the suggestions. Occasionally I have it suggest rewrites and do comparisons, then edit accordingly. I fixed twenty chapters of my original draft this way. I have the original manuscript and feel like it's a huge improvement, but none of the story beats changed.

When you say you haven't written smut yet, does this mean you're going to, will you be using any medical guides for details, and what past experiences will you be basing it on? 😁

I don't even think smut will save me at this point. But I might try anything once. If I ruin smut, I might have to quit. :sweating_profusely:

Hey JayMark, congrats on the new sci-fi book release! The premise for Mercenaries Don’t Wear Blue sounds really cool
Isekai is starting to get long in the tooth, so let's see if we can make good old fashioned dystopian space opera with a badass protagonist great again. Mission accepted.

I have a bone to pick with you! Not only did you make your first non-anthology a non-furry story, but then you had the gall to leave it in infinite hiatus?
I know, I know. I'll get back to it, I swear. It's just that I have a part-time writing job and on top of that I'm usually saddled with paid commissions, so it's been a real chore to get back to it. I PROMISE I'll get back to it in the next few weeks. 😊 😊 😊 😊

STARTING TO?????
Kadokawa has finally signaled they're not going to be publishing isekai as much. The market is over-saturated. The normies are starting to tire of it. Kind of sad, because I actually love the trope, but I don't like to see it oversaturated, abused, and parodied to death either.

They're about 10 years too late.

The ai assisted story reads as ai assisted indeed.
As do many of the stories on trending, or with massive readership.

This is an experiment. I have little experience with AI and am trying to learn some things.

It's still better than a draft I tried to fix several times, which I kept an intact version of.
I may do another edit of the draft without using AI after doing this.
I'll have multiple versions of this story to compare like a little science project.
The original manuscript is a good story with a lot of sentimental clutter and tone shifts that I could never trim enough.
The story beats are intact.
I've read and approved every suggested change.

And my [No AI content] stories will remain so.
A [No AI content] version of Mercenaries Don't Wear Blue will remain available on Space Battles

If there is anything I've learned its that sci fi stories always need for the MC to have an alien babe at his side. This way if you get a movie adaptation, they can hire Zoe Saldana and cover her in body paint (Avatar movies, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc).

Oh damn. Nevermind, you've been writing plenty. 10/10

There is that, technically, but the reader won't see it. The story always read with "humans fuck yeah theme". There is no 'overt' alien contact mentioned in the first book. But there is alien presence at all times.

They lost me after the Vending Machine.

I mean, seriously, WHY a vending machine...?

And why is it on its second season already?!

Why not, "Reborn as a Condom Dispenser"? At least then you could have all these vignettes about the adventures of various dippy virgins and slut-bunnies. *huffs*

Oh damn. Nevermind, you've been writing plenty. 10/10
Four grant proposals in the last week but we're in the running for about $5,000,000 in possible funding so...hopefully it'll all be worth it for the foundation. But I've opened up my current chapter of "The Villainess in My Erotic Game Needs a Hero" and glancing it when I can. I'm not happy with it though, so I want to tweak quite a bit before presentation to the public eye.
