Oh. I mean that on the 'home' page, at the bottom, there's a list of newly updated (uploaded) titles. I wondered if ALL newly uploaded (updated) titles show up there or only select titles or titles from select authors. Does that make any sense??

What shall be the name of the -xxx-

So true. I once realized that I'd recycled ONE name across THREE different books. And it's a name I find 'sexy' but NOBODY else finds it sexy. But it's a hill I'll die on. "Gus." :blob_uwu: The name's Gus and it's a sexy name. I dare anyone else to say different! :blob_unamused:

What are you good at when writing?

I'm good at dialogue. "Why do you say that? Of course, you're a good person." "Yeah...maybe." "Well, have you ever killed anyone?" "Only in spirit." Like that. ?

What shall be the name of the -xxx-

Okay. For boys, I sometimes just go to baby naming websites and find out what names mean what. If I wanted a more Asian feel then a name similar to that. Or an African one, etc. Otherwise, just take a letter and ROLL that dice. i.e. Boy. F. Filin (Felix, Fane). etc. etc. For girls, I like...

Oh. That's nice. :s_smile: Wait, if it takes a few days to get up after the mods approve, does that mean it's not accessible now? Because I posted the link and asked for feedback in the forum already. Btw, are all new posts listed on the main page or only special titles?

I saw another guy doing this

I read the first chapter of the 'dark hero of music.' Although I think it starts off strong with mystery, it does shift from past tense to present tense often. The omniscient POV isn't my favorite but I think it's do-able. For me, that was what stood out the most. I thought the character was a...

When you say...a BUNCH... how many is that exactly? Also, how about age and personalities? Then we can brainstorm with you about it.

    First Chapter Feedback

Hi. I've seen others do this and would love to offer a first chapter feedback exchange. I'll be as detailed with yours as you are with mine. Any takers? Here is my story that I'm looking to exchange feedback for. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/428801/the-hunchbacks-reluctant-bride/

The most underated Idea when writing Novels

Must it be a new idea? Don't get me wrong, I do like new ideas but I've found that many 'new ideas' simply aren't popular. People LIKE the common tropes, they gravitate to them. If something is too new or different, a lot of readers seem to resist. It's a special breed that seeks out new ideas...

    Writing dates in historical novels

Well, I grew up in America but live in Asia now and there is a TOTALLY different calendar and way of counting. For example, in Japan, the date is counted based on who is Emperor. You could literally hear "the first year of the Showa reign" and count until the emperor dies or is replaced. So the...

appropriate word count for chapters and tips on how to switch naturally between first person to third person

There's no real rule to how long a chapter should be. It's as long as it needs to be BUT I'd say that the new norm is about 2k or less for online reading. As for switching up POVs, I'd recommend against it but should you really want to, then maybe keep ONE character in one POV all the time that...

Do you guys found authors who use simple words and sentence boring in their stories?

Simpler might make things easier for non-native English speakers to enjoy the story.

Authors who wrote stories that have a low rating, how do you feel about it?

It stings at first but that's life. I think this current generation is having a hard time dealing with negative feedback. But negative feedback is a natural aspect of life and learning. Without knowing what we do poorly, we cannot improve to our full potential. So yeah, it stinks to be told your...
