    Stonefist?

From Robert Anson Heinlein (always steal from the best if possible): Waldo. A true classic, gave the English language the name for the actual device; a bit longer than most short stories but not a novella. If you haven't read it yet, he was called the Dean of Science Fiction for being so good at it!

What do you think are important things during war?.

    1) Keep the enemy the hell off my homeland, if possible. 2) Make & deliver beans, bullets, & fuel. 3) Keep the enemy from making or delivering beans/bullets/fuel to their own troops. 4) Get & maintain air superiority.

I've written 15 chapters so far. Should I publish now or wait for 20?

Holidays are coming up, a little more backlog will keep you sane(r) on those days & previous/post day; particularly if younger generation shows up

    Main character is a Shipwright

Looking back a long way, Swiss Family Robinson built a ship near the end of the book. Shipwrecked on a deserted island -- a precursor to the isikai genre; they're found at the end, so not a perfect comparison. Still a decent read, which is the definition of a classic!

What kind of unorthodox cake should I make?

Peanut butter (for richness) and banana (for sweetness)

a cool line, or a favourite quote

If you think something's wrong ... Speak up. Because embarrassment is momentary, but regret lasts a lifetime.

    Replacing swearing

You scrofulous snotrag, go die in agony! Your malarial mosquito whining annoys me, so shut your pie hole! If you can't curse without F-bombs you're an imbecile -- and the more elegant the language the better. Now go take a bath, you reek like roadkill skunk!

Can you write a premise just by looking at this AI image?

Not qui Not quite -- there's only one blue shoe, and only one girly type shoe on the girl. One bookbag(?), one messenger pouch, & the girl has only the extremely oversized jacket. All 3 could be smugglers with those sleeves...

    I'm just mad

Does a curse make you act like an a**hole(girl)? Is the man also cursed? On scale 1-10 where 10 is 'Apocalypse Now, Lovecraftian horrors destroy the World', how bad is being cursed generally? Does MC have history of not cleansing a curse, with regrettable consequences?

Industrialization Fantasies: The Unrealistic and Simplistic Portrayal of Technological Mastery in Fiction

In general the three steps of development are dog, pig, horse. The first is a three-legged dog: Just barely functioning, but the prototype shows potential. The pig works, but is horribly inefficient. The third stage is the workhorse, which is what you put into production. The Sterling engine is...

    Swords and stuff.

A boomerang is a hunting tool for killing birds and small mammals; if it misses it takes half a minute or so to return somewhere near you. War used throwing sticks -- heavier & didn't return (so it wouldn't clobber your own side). A boomerang might keep you in meat on the way to the battlefield...

Writing More interesting start for an isekai.

Storage ring. And why doesn't anyone enchant arrows with Unbreakable?

Writing More interesting start for an isekai.

A rapier is specialized for stabbing and slashing lightly armored or unarmored opponents; against a bear, boar, or even a wolf? Suicidal. If you want something unusual, give your protagonist Grandpappy's halberd (and extra STR & DX) -- mostly a formation or ceremonial weapon, but still a heavy...

And grammar corrections are love, not nitpicking -- someone is taking the time to post, to make your writing just a bit smoother!

Where the fak did this degenerate get this idea from?

My grandfather was Guay, & no the 'u' is silent. Go back to France & follow a different branch -- Gillette

    500 words for 500 days

You, sir, have discovered a research topic fit for a Ph.D. You would have to filter for self-selection of 'humorless + fanatic' when studying the Vegans, however...

    500 words for 500 days

Decades ago I read Diet for a Small Planet and Recipes for a Small Planet. My takeaway was that some things pair up well to create complete proteins -- peanut butter & cheese being my favorite. Read up a little, ask for advice (but don't take the fanatics too seriously); it's not a Fate Worse...

Questions for people who are giving feedback

I was reading at college-level speed & comprehension in 2nd grade; won a National Merit Scholarship.I've spent a half century reading for pleasure (mostly science fiction). Mostly my comments are proofreading for grammar & homonyms (complement/compliment, discrete/discreet, ordnance/ordinance, etc.)

    I Don't Get It

Adding a FedEx charge to any prescription, or paying someone to do a courier run ... Stupidity. Short term, over order the meds; when someone bitches, tell them why. Find out who ordered this, then bill them or their department for the extra costs. Who could authorize the local pharmacy as...

Writing Prompt kingdom was destroyed by demonkind who goes berserk

It doesn't matter to the grass why the elephant was enraged... What triggered the demon-of-demigodlike-power might matter, if only to save the next kingdom over. It was either relatively slow (to allow protagonist to escape, running/sailing/riding/driving/flying) OR protag wasn't there at the...
