    What's your favorite foxgirl novels?

I’ve read the beginning of some of these and I keep wondering… what makes a foxgirl novel a foxgirl novel? Is it just… the fox ears and tail… on a girl? They’re usually… historical or fantasy, and have swords? Do they get extra tails as they grow in power, like kitsune? I guess maybe I have to...

Do you like the process of writing?

I like some aspects of writing and I hate other parts, which is probably why I got into using AI. I really like plotting and planning stories if I can brainstorm with other people (most of my professional writing has worked this way, in writer’s rooms or co-authoring). If I have to do it...

Do you think Scribblehub should ban ai generated novels?

Just so everyone's clear, the Scribble Hub policy is that some AI-generated novels are banned, if they're "mostly created by AI." The Content Guidelines say: Personally, as an author working with AI tools I think this makes sense, if the goal of Scribble Hub is to give human authors and human...

Do you think Scribblehub should ban ai generated novels?

I don't really want to delete mine especially since there are 400+ people actively reading the ongoing series, and bailing for other sites seems like it'd be rude to them... so I guess I'll just hold out hope for clemency. Don't throw the cyborgs in the robot trash compactor, there's a human...

Is it unhealthy that I always refresh my novel page?

I'm feeling the dopamine withdrawal hard right now since all my series were hidden from search results for somewhat mysterious reasons! It's dropped the dopamine-driving numbers and stats and views and new readers into the toilet. Good reminder that a) search results and rankings and front-page...

Is it unhealthy that I always refresh my novel page?

Dopamine! It's good to try and cut the habit once in a while so you know how to let it go when you need to. Everyone has to deal with it these days due to social media likes, waiting for people to text back... the whole attention economy runs on dopamine.

Do you think Scribblehub should ban ai generated novels?

This one seems to be aiming for reducing “false positives” by erring on the side of declaring something human. I tried some of my very early chapters that I know are about 66% AI content, with me mostly proofreading and fixing inconsistencies (AI sometimes lose track of “state” since their...

Do you think Scribblehub should ban ai generated novels?

Image boards are for sure flooded, yep.

Do you think Scribblehub should ban ai generated novels?

Curious which sites are being flooded? The free sites I pay attention to have either banned AI work, or accept it (like Scribble Hub does) and have a small amount being posted. Some of the AI content that’s posted is very low-effort “write a prompt and post what the AI spits out” and tends to be...

How's the typography on this cover? (Upcoming series)

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone who commented. Definitely going to mess around with palette, position and readability some more, to see if I can "get away" with the frankly ridiculous angle. Standard ScribbleHub thumbnail size is small enough that it's pretty hard to read a title of this...

How's the typography on this cover? (Upcoming series)

Trying to do something a bit weirder but not sure it reads easily enough.

Links and formatting in series synopsis?

The synopsis is the one part of a series where no formatting or links are allowed. Even user reviews have formatting and spoiler tags! As a result, synopsis is very plain... and it's hard to do things like: link to another author's work if your series are interconnected, shared universe, etc...

Shared settings, co-authorship and related series?

I'm all for the idea of using the story description and cross-referencing, crediting the other author extensively, etc. The main problem seems to be... no links possible in the story description! It's the most plain-text field in an entire story :O :O I guess you could also use Author's Notes...

Sometimes I feel, what's the point of saying anything?

Sometimes the most important thing to “say” is simply something that shows you are listening and care what someone else has to say. In those cases, it does not matter whether you have an opinion or something novel to contribute, because the moment is not about you as a speaker, it’s about you as...

Shared settings, co-authorship and related series?

Someone asked me today whether they could write a series or a side story in the same setting as my series. I like this idea -- I've been putting together world-information not just for my own notes but thinking that someone else might want to read it one day. However, I'd want them to be...

I've got a smut-comedy of horrors. Review swap anyone?

Read your five chapters and wrote you a review, mostly because I found it really amusing and worthy of comment. If you feel like it, happy to swap for either of the first two series below (the first one's ongoing, the second complete at 10 chapters). "Five chapters for five" review is fine since...

Change to a long title or keep the short title?

Yep, that’s what I’ve already got.

Change to a long title or keep the short title?

Actually looking at data, what an idea! This makes sense, though I'm curious about favorites as well (pageviews depend too much on # of chapters and how long it's been up?)

Change to a long title or keep the short title?

My ongoing smut novel (first one below) has one of the shorter titles around, but it has a long subtitle. (The whole thing is “Succubated! by the Nine-thousand-year-old Demoness” The short title looks better on a cover with the long extension in smaller letters, of course. But which is better...
