What are the themes of your stories?

I don't know if it's a theme so much as a premise, but basically "what happens if you cross a western portal fantasy story and with a barely-westernized anime/light novel high school rom-com." Originally the first one was supposed to be westernized Isekai, but there's a lot less influence from...

What would you do when you woke up one day inside the body of your main character

I'd be really annoyed I have to take classes again, and I'd be kind of f-ed in some of his classes. Oh, and I'd miss my wife and kids, but hopefully it's temporary, and I leave the MC a whole bunch of notes on what to do that assumption. If I end up stuck there, I live very conservatively...

How do you guys feel about the use of the metric system of measurement in fantasy novels?

My current WIP uses the metric system, but it's modern-fantasy, in another world that is a bit behind our present day but still very much 20th Century. Main character comes from our earth, and America, and metric felt 'foreign' to me at that age (still does, but less so) so it fits the "a lot...

?What is your Main-Character doing currently?

In my current story, the MC is running a booth at the school's festival, while trying to ignore his friend (the prince mentioned in the title's) pre-ocupation with getting a girlfriend.

Why so many gender bender novels

I don't get that. Unless you're in some incredibly repressive country, or really, really poor, there's always the option of paying for the opportunity to touch (or various levels of etc.) I'm sure plenty of it is wish fulfillment or at least fap material, but that's for having their own...

Your thoughts on a literal tank character

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SapientTank Also, https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/1434244 I think there might also be a tank in the Anne Mccaffrey "Brainship" series (starting with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/203288.The_Ship_Who_Sang )

Why so many gender bender novels

Heinlein published a gender-bender SF novel I Will Fear No Evil in the 1970s, long before Ranma 1/2, and it was hardly a new idea then. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/GenderBender/Literature covers examples back to the 1930s, and examples from antiquity can be found under "Myths and...

    Human writing vs. AI editor

This was a one-time experiment, so I didn't have any particular expectations of it one way or the other. There are likely ways to take advantage of AI usefully, but that isn't it :) The AI, or the whole scene? If the AI, no reason to be sorry; I am not particularly fond of what it did either...

    Pizza with pineapple

Once in a while. Although I prefer it with pepperoni or bacon as ham or "Canadian bacon" is kind of bland (with or without pineapple) As for hot/cold pineapple, cooked pineapple is delicious. Take the skin off, and either chop it into disks and grill it, or stick it on a rotisserie and...

Would it offend you if i write a novel featuring hitler in it?

If you're going to borrow from something, at least it's something that was very funny :)

    Human writing vs. AI editor

I have been procrastinating on my latest chapter and found an old fragment of a story that I never finished, but rather liked the prologue I wrote. AI edit, with the prompt 'Revise the following short scene to be more descriptive and colorful' (followed by the full scene above) No...

Part II of My Best Friend is a Prince from Another World chapters

...and we're up to Pt II, Chapter 27. I've also been playing with AI art generators a bit. Here's the giant demon from Pt. II, Ch. 22

Hey everyone! Can you give me your honest feedback and criticism of my novel?

The counterargument is that "he said" (or the character's "name said") is pretty much invisible to the reader, so if the dialog stands on its own, it's probably all you need. I missed the breaking tense. That can be a killer.

Hey everyone! Can you give me your honest feedback and criticism of my novel?

Not really my genre, but it's clearly written, sticks to point of view, and uses dialog tags correctly which is ahead of an awful lot of stories. Minor quibble: at two places in the first chapter, you change speakers mid-paragraph - Should probably be three paragraphs: There's at least one...

Why Is The Edgelord Arch-type So Popular?

I've only seen the anime, where he wasn't really that much of an a-hole. Kind of an unchanging, overpowered protagonist but that's no worse than say, the James Bond films, and if you ignore possibly the worst-named protagonist character in recent history (for anyone who doesn't see it...

    Civil War

It's hardly just the American definition ( e.g. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/civil_war https://www.britannica.com/topic/civil-war ) - I'm not sure what dialect of English would demand it be more specific, although I can see where cognates in other languages might well be. "War of...

    Total words ÷ 4 = Views

Closer to 10:1 (~70,000 words and 7200 views) for my work-in-progress. No explicit tags, though, and it would be bait and switch if I did - one of my kids is also one of my beta readers, so while there are some very mild boob jokes and I think I've used language as strong as calling someone an...

    Have you ever done this

I've kind of got the opposite. The first ~25,000 words of my WIP were polished and edited a lot, but it took me 2+ years to get through them. Once I started posting chapters online, I've written the next ~40,000 words in 14 months (and with a couple of long-ish gaps in there.) Part I and the...
