How do I promote my story further?

I feel your pain with tables. Wattpad also doesn't allow boxes, so I ended up having raw file with bold text with what is in boxes. No pretty colors. Also, just to warn you, when you post on multiple sites, fixing mistake or editing is so endless... pain.

When did you notice the success of your novel?

For me success is when reader comments at all. Even first, or small tftc is welcome. What I consider big success was when I got PM saying they didn't like an action that supporting character took, and wrote an essay why is that person bad and why I should make sure the main character should...

    Synopsis Don'ts

Same with me, sometimes it helps, when they warn about harem I don't wanna read. I was advised to put list in my story, so I did... My theory is people tend to skip the actual synopsis and read only this, because that's what the author deemed most important. Then read the rest.

This is a work of fiction. Do you use disclaimers?

I had a story where characters bought pear yphones, Major Canada was popular Parvels hero MC liked, MC was working in GalaxyBucks, where she was just cute little teen having her cute romance with superhero. Just your classical superhero chick story. Now when you mention it, pony with their...

    Synopsis Don'ts

So... What if the synopsis is like this? Interested in the story? On serious note, I need to know the stakes. Without stakes I don't read.

Thinking of writing a story, Any Opinions on my premise?

I have a few thoughts. Starting with the execution is a ... brave hook! It immediately grabs attention and raises questions like 'Why is this happening?' However, it might limit initial character development. What if the story begins with the protagonist still working as a Terminator? You could...

Advice that is useless. A collection.

This reminds me one joke from novel I read. It was something like: This nice girl, armed with a wooden hammer of anime proportions, raised it high above her head, the weapon gleaming as if kissed by the chakra gods himself. Her eyes shone with the fury of a thousand blazing suns, and the very...

Advice that is useless. A collection.

This! This hurts so much. I did make *some* money before I went on hiatus. Still got complaints from IRL people to focus on my real job, or to get a real hobby. I don't understand why.

Advice that is useless. A collection.

Yes, that was what I was pointing at. It's an advice often said. When I need to specify who is talking without them taking an action, I can use said, but I usually try to avoid writing it, and as you said, I just write: “I know, child. Trust me, I would know.” With a swift motion, he opened a...

Advice that is useless. A collection.

Well said Corty, I agree with that. I got my work back with notes saying I am telling too much. It was true generally, but not in all instances. It's useless to describe a tree if the tree is useless to the story. So better advice would be like... What is your intent? Build on that. Consider...

What if I put low effort illustration in my Webnovel

Of course, if you are concerned about stealing artist work, use only those AI that have legally sourced datasets, such as LAION-5B dataset. (They are publicly accessable, so still might still be under copyright). IF you want 100% legal, you need to use like Google's open images dataset. Flux I...

When is it too early to start a new arc?

My advice would be to follow common structure. Introduction - Development - Conclusion - Closure. So when you do that you know exactly when to start new arc. ( You can have arc within arc withnin arc, every paragraph could be mini arc :) ) ie: In Introduction, you say who (proteg), what (the...

    Chapter length?

As a reader in "read as you go" I prefer average 2k, can tolerate a few chapters with more or less, but up to 3k if its only sometimes. If I read the novel in one go, it doesn't matter, 'cause... I read it in one go :) So I always tried to fit into that frame as an author, but only as a...

How much details do you use?

I agree with that there is a need for details. I, for one, don't care much for details in stories, so they can be talking heads in white room with little details :) Things like story and characters are more important to me. But most readers are not like me, so I struggle to think up scenes...

    Writing Prompt God's Isekai roulette

I was readin' your bog standard Isekai where the main hero gets hit by truckio and transported into magical world, where... Blah, blah, blah... *** But what if we follow the god, and not the hero? Follow a young god/ess, who doesn't have much power, and can't offer cheat skills. Having other...

What is your assessment of this first chapter?

I have a few nitpicks, if ya wanna :) The goal of a story should be to provide enough detail and context for readers to immerse themselves in the story and understand the characters' motivations and actions. The less characters the better (at least in first chapter). The more emotion emanating...

    Do you read your webnovels?

Yes. A lot. Sadly, sometimes I hate how stupid MC can be. Even though from MC point of view everything makes perfect sense, haha.
