If the threat doesn't create a conversation to be had, then you probably shouldn't post it. You could always just post your work on the review threads to ask for help or get some sort of false promotion. But if you post regularly then readers will eventually come, you just gotta be patient...

I'd say it depends on how much you wrote, and how little you remember. If you have like ~40k words then you could do some better good with a few revisions; Any more than that, then a story is probably already there you just need to reread and see where you can pick off.
