Something you 100% believe in author do but dont admit

There are about five or six "big name" authors like this - had one book that was moderately successful after a publishing house passed it over to a co-author to finish, and used that to build a "stable" of authors to write "his" books, morphing into a powerhouse. Tom Clancy was this way, IIRC...

Something you 100% believe in author do but dont admit

Only because the rabbit talked them out of hasenpfeffer.... I suspect a lot of WN/LN authors (Myself possibly included) got their start reading comic books/Manga (and the more recent Korean and Chinese "flavors"), which used to have episodic endings but now sometimes don't even have story arc...

I may go back and revise some chapters but yeah - though Blood Diamond (Book two) is in progress. Slow progress but progress. :D

    Rando question

Jump 1: Go to Amber to Walk the Pattern and maybe recruit Corwin Jump 2: Go to Chaos to Walk the Logrus and maybe get Merlyn on board Jump 3: Go to the world of Thundarr the Barbarian to bring back the post apocalypse tech/magic and maybe a couple of allies Jump 4: A world using the Dungeons and...

Yeah, you are writing in genres that don't have a huge following here (as my first story, Diamond in the Rough, showed, there is little interest in Noir; slightly more in "traditional" mystery, but it still does not have a huge amount of readers interested in it). Also you might attract a few...

    One or two fights?

I see two easy options: 1) Go with your gut and drop the second fight (and I would have expected Giragon to be a silly version of the first edition's Demogorgon, later renamed Mandrilligon - so only TWO giraffe heads) 2) Do a search on YouTube for videos by The Dirt League or Dead Gentleman...

    Writing combat

It is tricky. I'm stalled on one story because, while I've seen it on screen, I have never read a description of a fight between a posse and a bandit group - usually fights in Westerns are one on one or focus on one character while others deal with the side enemies and they keep crossing paths...

This junior seeks a punishment for his terrible wordsmithing!

Generally should be a mix - use longer paragraphs to set the scene or for the occasional infodump, shorter paragraphs to keep things flowing.

    Is this Cover gonna work?

Honestly ANY cover could work if something about it stands out and catches the eye. Maybe go back to the original and give the dragon a colored eye or something and maybe a slightly "cleaner" font (or give the font a drop shadow or outline to make it stand out more)

[Vent] For Authors who just need a moment to let it all out

Heh. Most of my stories posted here are 1 chapter teases a story, one to two chapters of fluff, action chapter, either part two of action chapter or chapter that teases the plot, repeat... :D Then again, only one (the one that most clearly follows this template) is doing well at all, so...

A.O.A.B is the only good Slice of life

But the cake is a lie... So are both "slice of lie" then?

A.O.A.B is the only good Slice of life

Just to clarify - is this COMMENT written by an action/fantasy reader or are you saying that "Ascendence of a Bookworm is the only good slice of life novel that was written by an action/fantasy reader"? Personally, I prefer "vintage" slice of life stuff, like, oh, most of Dickens's works.

On ScribbleHub? You'd need a list longer than half the novels here!

SMASH? if you see this in your bedroom or house ready and willing? How often?

The building? (Yeah, until they stop rebuilding it in my freaking house) The punching bag? (Once or twice but then get bored with it probably). The dude? (Nah, not my type).

Literally that is exactly what it is (and I have an ancestor who earned a coat of arms from the Crown of England for Privateering against the Spanish Main)

It would help if you posted a link here like this: THE LORD OF MALEVOLENCE | Scribble Hub

I will tell you when and why I stopped reading your story.

There was a secondary thread where OatMush "closed" this one, at least for a while.

What is Your Favorite Novel of All Time?

Wow - before this, the closest thing to praise I heard for this was "Well, Meyer finally learned how to write." (and general dislike of the movie version - though it seems very similar to a K-drama with a lot of praise).

    Educate me about Guns

Piracy is never legal. Government sanctioned piracy is "privateering" which is "always" legal by the sanctioning government, never legal to the targets... Suspect we do (and, for a few decades, have had) privateers targeting Russia, China and North Korea (at the very least - plus, apparently...
