    How do I write a mystery/isekai novel?

Can't give specific advice to writing mystery because that's too long and too writer specific, kind of like asking how to build a house. But I can give you advice on what to look out for when writing mysteries in webnovels. Just copy-pasting my post in RR: I can help with some things you...

I'm genuinely asking a question here (about harem)

It's a fantasy. You're inserting real world logic to wish-fulfillment. For example, in my case, I want to command a huge army back in medieval times. I just want to fantasize about it. I don't want to actually do that. The army will probably just starve to death because I don't know how to feed...

Do you read stories on other sites?

That really kind of depends on the story you're writing vis-a-vis the preferences of the site. And looking at your story, that's definitely for SH. I have no idea what's up with Wattpad nowadays after they nuked their forums and went insane.

    Running out of ideas

Try rereading your story. This mostly works though if it's already long. When I reread, I come upon forgotten plot points, or random bits that weren't really supposed to be clues, but then I realize would be cool to make into a backstory.

    2nd Language English

I did some research, and turns out people can live without a colon. I never knew that before this. lol. Anyway, this is getting derailed, I'll try to help out OP haha. I checked your latest chapter a bit @Park_NamByul This here, you're using an action tag like a dialogue tag. Should be...

    Webnovel Contracts

Is it possible for a non contracted story to still get seen there? About a year and a half ago, I tried putting there, but there's no audience for my weird story. That time, non contracted stories can be seen on the home page. I visited that site again recently and found nothing on the home page...

Just finished writing a chapter, and I return to this. :sweating_profusely:

    2nd Language English

My brain is foggy from rushing out a chapter. I saw you say that the two sentences were the same. And I thought, yeah, eating sandwich and eating friend's colon is the same, what's the problem with it? And I assumed you didn't understand the semi colon joke. The reason I thought eating sandwich...

    2nd Language English

I think that was supposed to be a joke, supposedly referring to semi colons and colons and punctuations in grammar, but ended up using the colon that referred to the body organ. It's not funny anymore though that I explained it. :sweating_profusely:

    2nd Language English

^ Yep, run-on sentences and comma splices too. Anyway, for me, beyond the basic grammar stuff, what I look for in web novels is dialogue, dialogue tagging, action tagging, internal monologue. Most native speakers that start writing also don't know this stuff. It's a good thing to study up on to...

Decline in moral standards in web novels

This is Scribblehub. Weird place to talk about moral standards. Just kidding. Or am I? :blob_melt:

How do you do POV change?

Woah, I think that's different from what people here assume you meant. That said, I do use that style in my story, First person for MC, third person for sides. I don't mix MC with Sides in one chapter though.

How do you do POV change?

You mean like pov change within the same scene? If it's different scenes, then I don't think there's really that much to it. It's the pov change in one scene or chain of scenes that's harder to do.

    Slow-paced Stories

Web novel writing (at least the mainstream in SH and RR) is fast paced. Don't let that stop you though. My story is slow paced and seems to be doing fine. Just that readers prefer fast paced. You're in SH though, so readers are generally chill, compared to RR where people will complain, so no...

Just posted my novel a few days ago and i would love some advice!

It seems like you're influenced by badly translated LNs? I don't keep up with translated LNs now but I think they've mostly improved past writing dialogue like a script. It really needs a lot of work, even just the spelling of Prologue is wrong. Agree with Ai-chan that you need some lessons. Can...

    the Concept of Adventurers Guild

Is that the LN? I'm only familiar with the anime. It got some fan service, but I don't think it had wish fulfillment because they were just getting shat on in the anime. Back then I was still in my wish fulfillment phase, so I auto disliked Grimgar because no one was OP, no cheat powers...

    the Concept of Adventurers Guild

If an OP Hero took out the king, then there would be no king with his beautiful princess daughters to think OP Hero is OP asf. Anyway, on a serious note, wish-fulfillment wise, it's a better fantasy to have kings and powerful rules think you're awesome, compared to being the king yourself...

    the Concept of Adventurers Guild

The adventurer's guild in WNs/LNs just comes with the readers expectations. Kind of like rarity of equipment in games. I think Diablo started it first, but then the system of WoW based on Diablo became the sort of template. Like why is Legendary rarer than Epic, or why is Artifact above...

How often do you kill off your characters?

If it's just randos, then a lot. If side characters that were built, then very, very rarely - the main reason being I spent so much time and words developing them that I don't want them to have a cheap death or for just shock value. Kind of sentimentality I guess. If they're going to die, I'm...
