How was your first experience with publishing here?

my case would be atypical. I insist on writing as if creating a paperback I would have read growing up. that's how I want it to read, that's what I aim for. it *really* doesn't fly well overall in WebNovel land. your writing might be more to market tastes. but welcome. the natives, emerge to...

    Do you use em dash?

I wondered that too. cant even google it, cause EM is standard for a number of technical things. Electro-Mechanical among them. wait, EM. as in... EM-dash. i just don't get the sprint part. in other news, I use the, what do they call it? The "stanford comma"? I just like it. Flows better to me.

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

in keeping with the theme then... since two other people said something about long posts (being longer than tweet length, apparently) you're actually the third person I found annoying to hear from. (drum roll *cymbal*)

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

I was gratuitously insulted several times. here you are again. trying to insult me for long posts. I took no offense. for the record? I didn't say that. I just *repeated* it. maybe if you read this whole thread, you'd have seen that. I think the whole thing's funny. try to have a sense of...

I figured out the genre of my story.

not too far off of the description of... "noir" in writing. The dark lighting, etc, "noir" was as it was meant cinematically. I guess a little "surrealistic" imagery mixed in with mostly noir. I actually have the "Heavy Metal" movie on DVD. I like a lot of retro.

    Do you use em dash?

I was always a semicolon person. regardless of if you are using them grammatically correctly, though... regardless of whether or not its a reliable way to "tell" its AI... they have become the universal "face of AI". so while I never used them, and always was a semicolon person anyways... I now...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

okay. I just got up from a couple several hour nap. Just noticed all this. I 'm prepared to make an initial statement: I need a coffee first. *sheesh* Okay. Reading glasses on. How to be funny and still be a good writer?

if i didn't play your video game or whatever that was, i had no chance of getting it. or maybe INT was my dump stat, who even knows these things. I've seen clips of Steven Wright, is i *think* it was his name. Comedian, used to be big. he had this boring, deep, deadpan humor. "There's a 7-11...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

oh yeah. I prefer the term eccentric myself, thanks. but i could be biased and all. wouldn't that technically be staff un-assisted then

How to be funny and still be a good writer?

yeah. I don't get it. sorry I asked for it to be explained to me, which ruined your joke. you have my deepest heartfelt apologies. so as i said earlier. I'll just be the straight man in this thread. that didn't sound good... but you know what I mean. if I just type random letter and numbers...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

well, it happens. not every time, but it does. you are staff. I could just not post if you asked me. or, again since you're staff. you could tell me I only get x number of lines, and that's it. when my posts work? they just "work". when they don't they just don't kinda like post grenades, I...

How to be funny and still be a good writer?

-------------------------------------- I have a police chief character I used, and he's... well, I think he's funny. To hear him go off on a "rant" with his trademark sarcasm and glib manner, is the stuff of legends. To hear him grumbling and shaking his head at dealing with riding herd over a...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

I've never counted the sentences in one of my paragraphs. I only notice if its one, maybe two. I do like to use the one line paragraph though, It makes an effective point. But when you use one line paragraphs all over, you lose that ability. And someone asked about ten 70k novels looking for a...

Developing a counter to my magic system

a magic user is high in intelligence and wisdom. the one thing those people are vulerable to, as powerful as they are. swift and blinding violence. you *whisk( a sword across a throat, in a sword-drawing stroke coming out from the scabbard... no sound. dead men tell no tales, so i doubt with...

How to be funny and still be a good writer?

what we call gallows humor, originates as "laconic" humor. the men from "Laconia", an ancient Greek area, were particularly known for it. Hence, we call it laconic humor. it fits in well with danger between excitement. because that's where it was developed out of. one of the *few* things...

Hello everyone! This is my first novel, and I’d like to invite you all to give it a read. I’m open to any feedback and criticism.

okay. disclaimer, I don't read LitRPG or cultivation or whatnot. still, being in WN land. Not like I'm not around it. Blurb reads decent, like the exciting print on the back cover of a paperback on the shelf. OP nailed that whole epic talk thing to it. "to challenge the gods... is he to save the...
