It's true though - I've been told (by family and teachers) that I have talent, but I've only been happy with about five of the hundreds of drawings I've made over the years.

800+ Readers But Low Patreon Support – Any Advice?

Since I have yet to activate my Patreon (it is set up but not activate) so not the best but... 1. Smut that does well on Patreon allegedly gets axed, smut that barely makes anything tends to survive for a good, long (and often just barely profitable) while. 2. Advertising seems to be the key...

Anyone else who have read the "Bugged hero" novel that just released recently?

Maybe the bug spread from the hero to the story?

Trying to get back into writing

Except for the homelessness and drugs bit you sound almost like me (add in "superheroes" and "horror" and change "months" for the D&D based world to "since '82)... The best motivator is to really like some or all of your characters and WANT to write about them (and, when they get boring, that is...

How often do you use the thesaurus?

Probably far less often than I should.

Everyone has the talent to draw. The challenge is drawing stuff you, personally, are happy with...

    Does this exist?

What about Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld stories? Recall the steamboat from the TV minseries at least (though the thing there was people from history being reborn in this world)

Recommendations A novel where the MC is just some guy

Ah yes, and a lot of biographies would as well, I suspect.

Recommendations A novel where the MC is just some guy

Good point - I doubt you'll see this much outside of comedy. Only non-comedy I can recall was the Marvels mini-series, where the MC was a normal photojournalist who happened to be present for most of the major events of the Marvel Universe. Actually, come to think of it, there were a bunch of...

    Crying MCs?

If it makes sense in story, fits the character's personality, and is not overdone (c.f. the last two seasons of Doctor Who if you want to see it over done), it is fine, humanizing even. Think I've only done it twice so far, except for characters mentioning it in flashbacks.

Feedback on My Latest Novel Chapter...!

1200 - 2500 is typical. Up to 5000 is "permissible" but it should be kept around 3K or shorter if at all possible (and rarely drop below 1500 without a very good reason) Also keep in mind Rookieqw says this every time and then gives mostly good advice and is far from the worst author around...

    Dream sanctuary

See the cover of "Between Worlds"? Notice the lattice of green lines? Triple the number, and insert anything from a single room to a full universe at each point where lines intersect, and you've pretty much got mine.

    Training arc?

From the ones my wife has listened to, that sounds like standard Cultivation Fantasy.

Should I publish before the whole story is finished?

I have several going - that keeps me from drowning in them but also means it will take longer to complete

    Is this cover too spicy?

    You didn't miss much... :D

Another cover that's probably too spicy, but I think it's good!

That's an efreet. Djinn are air spirits (as her ample air bags attest). I've seen print books with more suggestive covers (in fact, this reminds me of some of the TSR covers back in the 80s and 90s), but I have a feeling that if the last one did not clear, this one will suffer the same fate.

How much do you like authors to explain their main character's specialness?

It depends on a lot of variables. I mean, the only reason Rincewind was special was due to the spell lodged in his brain - a spell that saved the world ... eventually... but which kept him from learning other spells, a pretty bad limitation for a wizard. The explanation came out in bits and...

    Possible scam?

About a month a go I had someone here message me about that. At first it felt like AI messages, but then I got some real responses and finally a link to their gallery. Looking it over, they had some nice work but nothing that matched any of the stories I have up (and the prices were too steep...

What Ideas You Had to Cancel On?

Not exactly cancelled but rough ideas that (so far) never went anywhere. Two of them are mentioned in last chapter of True Blue posted - the story where Adamsky and Burke met "that guy who claims to be Frankenstein's creature" and the story of "the mummy in Atlanta" (the latter has two chapters...
