Just wondering... how many crossposting do you do (as in how many websites?)

Actively? Here, PocketFM and Substack. Passively add Honeyfeed and Royal Road - have accounts on both and stories there but haven't done much with either since the beginning of the year.

    Removing troll reviews?

Maybe we should have Troll Reviews - review the trolls... "Annoyance factor 10 out of 10. Entertainment factor 1 out of 10"

I am excited to share that I will be updating my works, "The Prodigy's Avatar" and "Reign of Loner," with new content twice a week.

Space releases out or they'll be blocked as spam. I think two per hour is the maximum, and ten per day, so be careful.

    Writing Tone shifting my novel

It is POSSIBLE to marry the comedy to the darker fantasy - check out things like Garrett P.I. series by Glen Cook or, well, just about anything by Neil Gaiman. But it can take a lot of work to do.

    Writing Tone shifting my novel

How far along are you in it? Is the tonal shift sudden or gradual? If gradual, a lot of fantasy authors follow that trend (even Weiss and Hickman, the team that put out the Dragonlance novels). If sudden, without warning, you might ruin your story - or elevate it ... or even do nothing to it...

    Writing Fake-Out Deaths Well

Commenting so I'm more likely to find this when I have time to listen (lost the transitional one in the forum chatter).

Should I tag my novel as Girls Love even though it isn't about romance?

Isn't two characters who have feelings for each other but just assume the other doesn't a Romance genre staple though? This definitely wanders close enough to "Girls' Love" that it should have that tag. If the romance ever takes over for a chapter or two, then it should also have the "GL...

Flashbacks: spread out or all together?

Varies, but most likely a mix - if a flashback covers multiple chapters (a risky thing in webnovels, by the way - audiences can step away for a few days and forget they were reading a flashback, get confused, and lose interest) then those chapters should be kept together, perhaps with a few...

How much do y'all re-read your chapters before publishing em?

Before PocketFM started asking for chapters, I reread everything at least once, sometimes twice. Now it goes up as soon as its finished, and often needs a good deal of editing later.

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

I don't drink ... beer. The most fun characters are the oddball side characters who steal a few scenes, then disappear from the story (unless I can find an excuse to drag them back in). They include children, some of the more pathetic villains (like Hellhound in Strange Awakening) or some of...

As a writer, I am going to give my reading search routine to other writers

Novel Updates - the "sister site" of Scribblehub, for translated works.

How do the stories end for moral antagonists whom you like?

You left out the "real" choice: "However feels right for the story." In some stories, a redemption arc makes sense, in others it feels so forced on you can see the tape and superglue used (for some great examples of both, track down the old ABC series Once Upon a Time - IIRC only three villains...

Do you limit how many chapters you read?

Oh, I know - I try to write about half a chapter a day. When I'm not working, I usually get a full one out (sadly about half of what PocketFM wants me to put out... and I only average one day off a week). I usually read when I don't have the energy to write, so I was answering the question...

Do you limit how many chapters you read?

Sort of but not really. Try to keep it to two a day, or three if they're very short, unless I have a LOT of free time but no energy to write.

    Derp?

Well, one of the quintessential gender bender stories that came from Japan (as manga and anime) focuses on the comedy and "ecchi" aspects, while dancing around romance - Ranma 1/2.

As a writer, I am going to give my reading search routine to other writers

I generally go manual. I either wade through the "trending" stuff until I find an interesting title, and then look at it for tags I have no interest in (generally "Sports," - though if it also lists "comedy" I might go for it - "Smut" or any words I don't know the meaning of, mostly a lot of...

Monsters born of the minds of humanity.

Ah heck - the first time I ran into this was in the novelization of the Dexter series, but apparently a few serial killers have used the term: "The Dark Passenger" - a tiny monster that latches onto people and gives them a dopamine boost whenever they engage in violent or destructive actions, as...

Monsters born of the minds of humanity.

If you want you can use this: The Other. It looks almost like you but different enough that something is off. It always seems to be friendly, but it also always seems to want something, and that something becomes stuff you value more and more - first it wants to be friends with your kids, then...

    Derp?

I kind of skirt smut a few times in Strange Awakening but don't think I ever quite go there... It is possible, but difficult as the temptation to explore the character's changing nature can be strong, and can naturally lead to NSFW moments.

What would you do if you regressed?

30 years? I'd have just joined the online community where I would meet my then-future wife in a few months. Probably would just make the same mistakes I made back then, but take more time doing it and feel guiltier.
