What's the most creative power or application you've written?

Oh, if we're talking ever, the one time I completed a NaNoWriMo story, I had a musical group called Adversary, The band's lead singer had absolute control of his voice - able to make it sound like anything from a low whisper to a full orchestra, and even use it for combat if he had to. The...

As a reader, what does a good synopsis look like?

It should be an honest teaser - give you a hint of what kind of story it will be, who or what at least one main character will be, and a clue as to the nature of the challenge(s) the MC(s) will face. Not a laundry list, not a summary, just a teaser.

What's the most creative power or application you've written?

Hmm - probably have my more creative uses scattered around "Between Earth and Pyrroth" - Using a song by Journey to revive a dead person - Using the Law of Similarity to turn robes into a form-fitting cage by turning the wool of an ewe into the wood of a yew. On this site, maybe having Sparrow...

Ideas for northerner fantasy faction (NOT VIKING STRENGTH SAVAGERY SLOP)

"Viking" was a verb in Old Norse - the seasonal act of raiding for livestock, women and sometimes land. Usually, it was young men who had dishonored their families trying to regain honor by raiding. Valhalla was one of the two places the honored dead went to. The hall of Freyja was for those...

Ideas for northerner fantasy faction (NOT VIKING STRENGTH SAVAGERY SLOP)

Could go with the Finnish instead of Norse mold - more magical stuff, less focus on combat, honor, same focus on beer.

    A few short-lived Tv shows that I loved! ?

Ah yes, one of the shows Fox murdered by playing "Time Slot Bingo" - at least ABC Family (now something else I don't remember - Freeform or some such? Actually changed during the final season IIRC) gave their version of what looked like the same show - Kyle X/Y - three seasons (though it ended...

    AUTHORS HOW DO YOU MANAGE??!!!

Once a week or so it may not be too bad but in general it is. Salvador Dali got to the point where he only slept about two hours a day in two to three "bursts" - but I suspect his paintings were all still-life at that point.

    Rant on Dialogue

I am 80% certain that any conversation with multiple participants is a dialogue - with only one it is a monologue. Never heard of a "truel" before (and neither has my spell checker); I've always heard one person = practice. Two = duel. More than two = melee.

    A few short-lived Tv shows that I loved! ?

He tried twice - once for an animated series (allegedly almost greenlit when Tim Reid (Shepherd Book) died and nobody wanted to do it without him at that time), and once when the CW was looking to acquire it. Fox blocked the CW one by pulling out oddball contract clauses that ultimately led to...

    What is Divinity?

From the official cosmology of Pyrroth, In the beginning was the Maelstrom of All Possibility, where Creation and Destruction struggled in an endless stalemate until Creation took a segment of Destruction and created the concept of mortality. In rage, Destruction also Created something of its...

    Rant on Dialogue

Hmm... Good and clear until this point. If I understand this correctly, it should be: If I DON'T understand it correctly, it needs to be rewritten for clarity. This is is a bit awkward but it seems to fit the character's anger and is clear, and can probably stay like this. For the part in...

Who is the moral compass in your fiction?

Well... In the Jack Diamond stories, it keeps shifting around to just about everyone but Jack... he's just too cynical. In True Blue, part of Nathan's "journey" is to understand what a moral compass is and how he embodies it, despite having no real memories more than four or five years old. In...

What would your fantasy story be if it were set in a real-modern world setting?

I haven't put forth any of my pure fantasy stories and the ones I have shared are all set at least partially in something close to the real world. If I ever get around to writing "Assassin King" or any of the "historical" Pyrroth tales, then it would be ... interesting. In the real world...

Dear Fellow Authors... What is the most outrageous Nemesis you've given your protagonist in a story?

In the first issue of Young Justice, the late Peter David (and the art team he worked with) teased what may be the ultimate example of this - The Mighty Endowed. Superboy was crushed (and not the way he WANTED to be) when she was too top-heavy to fight them...
