If Given A Choice, Would You?

Back when I was single, yes, any of them. Really. Now, no.

Writing Prompt Request for new series

Sorry, had to pull mine for PocketFM, though if they don't figure a way around the payment mess, it may be coming back here...

What's the most difficult thing about writing story content?

The trick is to slip the stakes and stuff in quietly in the background. Those scenes are tough to get right, but also some of the most rewarding as a writer if you DO get them right.

? New Fantasy Novel – I Will Never Let Her Suffer Again

    Blandly competent, emphasis on "bland"?

Writing How do you appreciate your own work?

With a nice chianti and a side of fava beans, of course. Oh, I've had moments that didn't actually hit me when I wrote them, but get me on the verge of tears when I re-read or even think about them. Kelly's dad passing in Strange Awakening (Liked that character so much I felt guilty over what...

Tips for writing romance and (non explicit)physical affection?

It's hard. Practice is the only thing I can suggest (and I'm not sure I'm very good at it... tend to rush through the courtship part because the awkward part ... hits too close to home, STILL, after 25+ years of marriage...

The Black Box Principle, or How Not to Wreck Yourself Building Your Magnum Opus

What are some major milestones to track for your stories?

The only stat that matters is the number of readers asking you to write more. If that is > 1, you're doing well. If it's less than 1, you need to work on something... If it's exactly one... well, then you might be me...

What is the hardest character archetype to write?

Any pure comedy archetype. I have no problem slipping comedy in but maintaining it through a whole story? Nope.

    Writing a Crash-out (Thoughts?)

Unfortunately, I had to pull the story, but I had a "calm crash out" in Between Worlds - when monsters attack a meeting, and he realizes his girlfriend is about to become one, the MC uses a supernatural electromagnet to pull the poison that's transforming her out - but he goes a bit too far and...

    Which story to upload first?

Honestly? I would pick one to shelve until at least two are finished (probably the "wants to be farm girl" one), one to post here (as it's the only one I, personally, find interesting, I'd suggest the parody but that's just me), one to post to RR (anti-social elf as LitRPG seems to be big...

Authors, Do you plan your stories?

That kind of situation is partly what lead the author of "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh" to publish the book (and likely triggered a lot of rewrites when it was filmed and the studio realized the similarity between "Nimh" and "The National Institute of Mental Health" was not a coincidence...)...

Writing Prompt Request for new series

Why not go for broke and request someone track down ... I think it was Dragon 79 and 89 or thereabouts. that had the TAROT of wondrous things. Each of the Major Arcana could have a good or bad effect, depending on if it was facing straight up or inverted.

    Writing Entertaining Slice of Life

I like it as a change of pace from a story, not as a genre itself. Give the characters some down time, let their personalities show, and maybe have the main plot creep forward a little when nobody's looking.

how to attract viewers on scribble hub ?

Sex sells. It is EASIER to find an audience with sexually charged content, but it is not a requirement, just an easier route - at least from what I've observed over the last year and a half or so.

Do you include images or nah?

For the Jack Diamond stuff, I considered it, but would need to contact the artists (if they're still alive - know one who worked on the project passed) and publisher (which changed twice since) to get permission for the best ones I have access to, and, so far, AI let me down on them.

Authors, Do you plan your stories?

I have a collection of scenes and a general ending in mind from the start. Characters and events may change that ending a bit and maybe one or two scenes will have to be reworked, dropped, or shunted off to another story but that's how things grow organically.

    Neurodivergent character vs. 'Autism' tag?

Not sure if this is ironic or just coincidental - the person who hired me for my current job is now leaving ... to accept a job working with autistic kids!

Writing What is your favorite protagonists hair color?

No metal? No living snakes? Can't really answer this one - there are a lot of redheads in my stories but they're rarely the MC. Most of my MCs have darker hair but not all.
