What kind of music do you usually listen to when you’re writing something?

It really depends on the project I'm working on. For The Elarian Chronicles and Aethara though, I tend to listen to a lot of symphonic metal (Nightwish, Kamelot, Within Temptation, etc etc) For Aestelle Nocte, it really depends on the the chapter content, but it will be one of a few different...

    Neurodivergent character vs. 'Autism' tag?

Wouldn't that be (theoretically) possible with a large enough counterweight trebuchet? Either way, building one big enough to launch something with enough force to achieve escape velocity would be a noteworthy achievement of engineering by its own merits, and quite the feat of engineering. We...

When it comes to LitRPG Grinds...

It really depends on the needs of the story and the narrative. For some, you can spend an entire volume (~50,000 - ~150,000 words) going through a single dungeon, floor by floor, and room by room. For others, the pacing needs to be faster. It all depends heavily on the structure and narrative...

    Aestelle Nocte - Discussion Thread

Chapter 2 just dropped. And with it, a new discussion question. "Who should be at the door?" You'll find all the relevant info at the end of Episode 1: Chapter 2 - Welcome to Earth.

    Add a "Neurodivergent Characters" tag

Adding my vote to this. The "Autism" tag is alright, but could better be presented as "Autistic Characters", though simply a generalized "Neuro-divergent characters" tag would be a huge boon, especially for those who include such characters in our stories.

    Comment on chapter

On here, they're all scammers, but it can always be fun to mess with them a bit too.

I wish there was an effective way.

I don't have to imagine it. In fact, I got a different one. From that exact same bot. On my least-viewed, least-active, "World-Lore" series. I've included the so-called "chapter" they "read" as well since it is literally just a place-holder. (There's literally no "story content" in that series...

    How detailed are your environments?

I tend toward being very vivid and detailed in my descriptions, of everything in my stories. From the viewpoints of the PoV character(s). If the character(s) can't see it, hear it, feel it, taste it, or smell it, I don't describe it though. As far as castle-scenes go, the closest that I have...

    To Those Who Write LitRPG...

    1) The system that I designed for mine actually mitigates the bloat within its simplistic execution, despite seeming to be exceptionally complex on paper, and the stories themselves don't make a big deal out of the stats themselves. In that system, level itself is mutable, but hard-capped at...

What's your ultimate 'dream' for your story?

Well. I only have two real 'dreams' for my work. 1) To finish writing it (and maybe self-publish on Amazon once I have for physical copies). 2) For people to enjoy reading it. Anything more would be great, sure, but I'm a realist, and prefer to keep my expectations within the realm of the...

    Neurodivergent character vs. 'Autism' tag?

If you happen to come to a good answer, then let me know as well. For the time being I've simply used the 'autism' tag on my own stories that feature more or less a similar concept, but only because there isn't specifically one for characters yet.

[Help me] Determine Writing the Priority of Fiction Works Based on the Story's Premises

Out of the ones there, the last three are the ones that intrigued me the most. For whatever my opinion, insight, and interest in darker fantasy stories might be worth to you.

Authors on Hiatus/Inactive Forever: Would You Ever Let Someone Else Finish Your Story?

It really depends on a lot of stuff, but for the most part, no, I will not support anyone continuing my stories while I am alive. At least, not while I'm still alive. (I won't be around to care if I'm dead after all). If/when I happen to pass away, that is another story entirely. The piles of...

Feedback request —the uncrowned paragon ( survival, escape, and complex power system)(please i really need it)

BEFORE AFTER Putting the openings side-by-side here. You've definitely taken the advice to heart, and the effort shows. You're still leaning a little heavily on the "telling" side, but it is clearly not only an improvement (a significant one btw), but a much better hook. You're still using a...

Weak Protagonist, OP Protagonist, or somewhere in between?

Personally, I'd say it all comes down to the execution and the focus of the narrative itself. For some, it's completely fine for the protagonist to be overpowered, because of the inherent nature of the story's conflicts. For example: Superman. He's OP as hell, but it works fine for his story...

What are some forms of media you felt really told a story better than a book could?

Interactive Media (Games) can at times deliver a story far better than novels can; for example, Detroit: Become Human works far better as a 'game' than it could as a novel, because the player directly interacts with the story directly, and gets to experience it on their own terms in a way that a...

What horror experiences have you ever had?

Alright then. I'll start with the second one then. Dates and Times are approximate, because I can't recall the exacts. It's been a long time since then. This is the most accurate recounting of what happened that I can manage from memory. EDIT: Fixed the formatting now that I'm home.

What horror experiences have you ever had?

So, do you mean like "Paranormal" stuff, or just "something scary" that I've experienced?" Just asking to help narrow down what I should bring up and the tone of the kind of experiences you're curious about. Incident 1: Paranormal - Happened when I was young, in the basement of my old house...
