What are your thoughts on using IRL historical figures in fiction?

Both have been features in the popular culture already.... Same problem as Assassin Creed's use of historical figures, which nobody was batting an eye at back in the day, but become a ... let's say controversial thing. Ching Shih may be known under six different names. I had to google her to...

What are your thoughts on using IRL historical figures in fiction?

Never reference the real-world issues. It's not worth the trouble. The historical figures with no political or religious significance may get a pass, as the very few people would care, or be invested, but even then it's not guaranteed considering the current day and time obsession with...

Considering she most likely has dexterous grasping talons with the opposable thumb at their feet, likely meant to act like hands, it wouldn't be so weird.

Is it just me or do anyone else get turned off when authors bring irl politics and their nationalists jingoism to novels

The Holywood did get more unhinged, that's true, but the part the OP hates about other novels was always there since the start. Only the works where the characters didn't get to reference the other parts of the world got a pass.

Is it just me or do anyone else get turned off when authors bring irl politics and their nationalists jingoism to novels

It was always this way. The vast majority of the Holywood production was like this long before you were exposed to the popular culture of other nations, and found out they did the exact same thing, with a same message, with same creator provincialism, just with infinitely smaller budgets. It...

A question about creating a novel on scribblehub

You need at least one chapter in order to submit a story. I am not entirely certain how many words it should have, but I mildly remember it is supposed to be 800 words long or so. I am not sure of an exact number. It needs to be a valid chapter, i.e. not generated by "AI", and not a random...

How do you get book covers for your book

Not allowed to put gore on cover. I tried. No hearth shopping, you probably imagine. ... Either way, I didn't major in marketing, so don't ask why the novels should be labelled as "hearth stopping best-seller" (or heart shopping), but book cover template thought it is somehow a good idea, so I...

Please assist/ rate my leveling system

I rate it T for Teens. I am like ESRB! Otherwise, does the system need to have stats like Wisdom and Intelligence? I know, it's like D&D, but as someone else pointed out, people will complain if the protagonist does something stupid, not to mention that D&D stats only scale to the certain...

How do you get book covers for your book

The only error was the picture wasn't cropped properly at the bottom of the frame. I fixed that. Removed your pen name as it didn't fit properly into the frame, it would distract from the faces of what I assumed are main characters. Now, even without the author's name, it looks more like a book...
