    Public domain is for fictional characters. Like King Arthur, Cthulhu, Sherlock Holmes or Fu Manchu... There is still a problem with those. While the original interpretation of those characters is indeed a public domain, their subsequent interpretation is copyrighted, and lawyers would love...
