How to make another fight scene feel engaging?

A bit late of a response, but usually the scene falls flat when there isn't tension. If it's an action scene, that lack of tension usually comes from one the pov side being too strong and not being threatened. It's also why most amateur stories/fanfics can seem a bit dry since it's just nonstop...

How to make another fight scene feel engaging?

Five minute thoughts from me: Do you really need a 'fight' scene? If you're just doing action for action's sake, stop and think if it's necessary. Since this is a VR MMO, is your character too strong? There really isn't any tension if he is, so fight scenes would definitely fall flat. To fix...

I'd appreciate some critique on my first story.

5 minute review commentary/suggestions: Reduce the space between paragraphs. It's a bit weird having to jump so far between each one. A little detail can go a long way. There's no need to paint every single feature or object. Just pointing out the important parts is enough. You are...

    Anyone has this reading problem?

...Have you been reading only web novels and/or translations of web novels? Because this happened to me when I read a lot of those. I would highly recommend picking up a physical published book every now and then to refresh yourself of what proper English looks like. If that's not the case, it...

    Reader friendly novel?

Don't read it for about a week and then read it yourself. If you like it, there's at least one reader who will also like it. If you hate it, well, there's probably someone who will like it, but you should probably reconsider your writing. If you do a lot of reading, you should have an intuition...

What do you do when it feels like your story's hit a roadblock?

Say screw it and purposefully write bad to get past it to the good stuff. You can always fix it later... Or be lazy and leave it.

How can I upload images on chapter on Scribbly??

Or violate copyright. And remember that Fair Use is an American thing.

    Why did you start writing?

Over a decade ago, I read some fanfictions and thought 'I can do better.'

Any recommendations for a better writing software

If you need the grammar and spellcheck features, I would also suggest Google docs and LibreOffice. I personally use a basic text editor called Ghostwriter for drafting and check it in Word after I've written a chapter.

What are your favorite genres? Why do you think they grip you so much? And what would your ideal story consist of?

Timeloop and second chances, mostly for personal reasons revolving a lifelong regret regarding a person who was in my life. As for ideal stories, one where a tragedy is turned into a happy ending.

As a reader do you like to have the choice to impact a story's plot or it does it turn you off?

Depends on the type of story and your creative process. If you're the sort who can write to expectations and the story lends itself to interaction, it's great. If you can't, or if it's a completed story in your mind that just needs to be written, better to not let outside influences affect you.

    Webnovel sucks!

People have too much time on their hands. Just treat it as free engagement to bump up the numbers on your story and move on.

Now it turns out that my novel is now inclusive and Woke?

If you've put thought into it, then of course they aren't there to just fill a racial box. As to whether your story feels inclusive, I dunno. Depends on what you think your target audience is. Doesn't seem to be geared towards the people who get upset about 'inclusivity' in the first place, so...

    I enjoy writing, but...

Personally, I don't think this is a point that needs to be argued. If I were in your situation, I honestly would just stop interacting with your colleagues beyond the usual courtesies since it seems that there's a fundamental difference in beliefs and since they seem to be the type that like to...

Do you care about story ratings

Depends on the number of ratings. If a story has 100+ ratings and the average is low, that's probably a fair gauge of the quality. If it's 40 or less, it's probably worth taking a look even if it has a low rating.
