That's valid. I was concerned it might feel confusing and abrupt too, but I didn't know how to fix it. Maybe I'll add a prologue(?) I'll think on that, and how to get the plot to be 'darker'. I agree. Even when reading traditional novels at the library, I go to the back cover of the novel to check the synopsis. If it sounds fun, I'm in. If it doesn't, I don't waste my time.
