    The more I write, the better my writing seems to get.

    And the more I get the itch to rewrite my previous chapters because they now seem worse to me than when I had written them.

    Isn't this an endless cycle? I can't figure out what to do.

    I feel like I've been cursed ever since I started writing. I can't enjoy the novels the same way I used to.

    Whenever I start reading something, my mind automatically begins to dismantle the plot and the writing.

    I just... can't get as immersed as I used to.

    For some reason, I keep making the exact same mistakes while writing. And Grammarly simply doesn't detect these mistakes.

    I sometimes use she instead of he when narrating from a male character. The opposite doesn't happen, for some reason, though.

    Even If I consciously try not to make these mistakes, I still find them while editing.

    Grammarly is overrated. I've now switched to manual editing... although the errors persist. :blob_melt:

    Oh, I've never relied on Grammarly; it's just convenient to spot mistakes quickly.

    It often doesn't detect some mistakes and sometimes flags things that aren't even mistakes.

    But overall, I'd say it saves time while editing.

    I got my first follower on RR after posting 17 chapters. I don't know whether I'm doing well or not.

    I have never made any attempt to promote my story or asked for review swap, shoutout swap or whatever else.

    I feel like I'm very bad at writing a synopsis.

    My current synopsis feels too generic for my story. But I can't think of anything else. Besides, I don't think my story's plot can be summarized in a synopsis.

    I was planning on building a large stockpile before recreating my novel, but I feel like I'm the kind of person who can only work under pressure. Since there was no deadline, I procrastinated and only made 6 chapters in the time I could've made 11 or more. So I'm gonna just go ahead and create my novel to give myself pressure.

    AI Witch hunts are getting out of hand. I sometimes begin questioning myself whether my own writing feels like AI or not.

    Hell, I don't use EM Dash even where I could benifit from it.
    It's not that these which hunts are right or wrong, they are just stressful to new authors.

    Especially on a site for originals where mostly AI stories are not allowed. (The loophole here is mostly, it's very hard to make rules for AI when it keeps improving.)
    There are plenty of sites for the AI bros to post their 'works' machine generations, so they shouldn't be posting where human writers are trying to compete.

    It is rewarding to read and be surprised by the cadence of human writing. It’s not something an llm can predictably replicate because of how it works. I’m getting really annoyed by all the so-called novels "written" by gpt showing up on my fb feed with everyone praising them. Seriously, go read a real book.

    Sometimes I wish I had a sibling or a friend that had anything to do with novels or stories. Its so frustrating when you want to discuss something about your story to get outsider opinion and you have no one to talk to. I'm so envious of those people whose siblings are writers as well.

    I remember seeing some people mention that if you post more than a certain number of chapters at once while creating your book on SH, then it would be flagged as spam and wouldn't appear in the new section.

    I forgot the exact number. What was it?

    If you sort the chapters within 24 hours then that could happen as it's to prevent authors from trying to cheat the latest updates page. Deleting a chapter might trigger the anti-cheat system too but I'm only like 80% sure about the deleting part.

    Why the hell are cultivation/Murim novels so obsessed with the word Heaven?

    I mean, they are also obsessed with words like Immortal or Demon, but Heaven is just used too much, too often. It has become a verbal tic at this point.

    Literally everything has the word Heaven in its name. It's used a bit too much in conversations as well. Aren't the authors worried about repetition within the chapter?

    I hate it as well. It's so annoying to restructure and compress what you wrote because you've hit the character limit.

    But yeah, maybe not a ring, but basically a metal thingy. So the dude seeing the ROUND FORM thought : hey what if i put 1 finger+toe in it ?
    Result he couldnt remove them afterwards.
    So he was in weird position stuck. So he called and go to hospital. Removed.
    But day didnt end, he thought : this time i can succeed !
    And failed again > Hospital again.

    Oh, you don't need to worry about that, I find others talking more interesting than annoying.

    But I guess its due mostly to the "spam". Nowadays people want this catchy short replies. Like messaging on phones.

    The rules are there for contests.

    200 IQ authors use the Decaded solution to meet the minimum entry length. Authors with less IQ padded their word counts by using unnecessary descriptions and repetitions.

    This is why AI write like this. The not X but Y structure is the bread of butter for authors trying to pad their word counts and AI picked it up from them.

    Fun Fact: I have written 17 different drafts of my first chapter so far, each one including a different incident or hook, yet I still can't decide which one to use as my first chapter. Each draft has its own strengths and weaknesses, there is no draft that is downright better than the others.

    So I just can't decide on one.

    I tried Audiobooks of Light Novels for the first time.

    And... They suck (to me, at least).

    I think reading is far more comfortable than listening to audiobooks.

    I discovered an interesting little life hack.

    I have pretty decent drawing and sketching skills physically, but I suck at digitally drawing. I hate complicated stuff so I didn't bother to learn.

    But I recently discovered a filter in my phone called 'Sketch'.
    Clicked a picture of my sketch, applied the Sketch filter, then lo and behold, you have successfully converted physical art into digital art.
