  • Okay guys I think we've had enough linguistics/etymology YT shorts creators. I think we can pivot to something else, maybe like taxonomy
    Daily music recommendation #330

This one's sad. I think it's about a man's relationship with a woman with some sort of mental illness, ending with her suicide. He exclaims that she's "dying her way", but the outro repeats the words "I'm still not sure if the wrong and the right side is one". Very sad stuff.
K-Pop fans are a menace. I can't believe there is a group of people with worse music tastes than you, shrimp. We have bangers like Madmans Esprit and they decide to obsess over musicians with zero talents or creativity, only looks.

The worse(best) proof i seen that proved the veracity of this statement is :
a Youtuber video that goes kinda : I faked being a K-POP star on socials with a fake face and no works.

PS : I think i only glimpsed through it but i remember he mentioned at the end of the experiment that he had like 2? 5k? fans without even debuting.

I will ignore what you said about my music taste (it's impeccable), but it does shock me every time how... uninspired the K-pop I hear in my day to day life is. One thing I can't get over is how they insist on having a rap section in every song even though they're almost always ass. A lot of nice melodies though
I saw a xeet complaining about how women's standards are too high and that they won't date you even if you're a good man because you're under 5'5

    I thought "5'5? Not 6 foot?"

    Checked the location

    Vietnam

Why are my SEAbros like this
I have never touched the ignore button thus far, but Lord is she a temptress
I was researching a local plant to write a profile on. Imagine my shock when I learned that one of the English names for it contained the n word hard R

The plant isn't even native to Africa. Old scientists were just racist as hell wtf

Pronoun? Nah~ I am pretty casual, I am more into amateurNoun... I only really noun every now and then, down at the club with some of the lads
The unwritten pitfall of writing a supernatural sidekick character who's always with the protagonist but invisible to most of the cast is that sometimes you just forget they exist. You'll write chapter after chapter before realizing they haven't spoken a word.

I have a super natural sidekick character that none of the cast can see.
It's name is Borgoraforty. It likes to drink rancid milk and eat stale crackers.
We have long conversations in the public park while I feed it.
The correct way to think about your country is to absolutely fucking despise it almost to an irrational degree

but also to love it just a teeny bit more

Mr. Morale is such a fascinating album, which is why I've recommended so many songs off it. Just an excuse to talk more about the record. Definitely Kendrick's most personal, conflicted work, but it's also his least immediate. Not all the songs bang, which is why I don't return to it as much, but the ones that do stand out a lot.

United in Grief is one such song.

So many interesting changes. So striking. So evocative. So other adjectives. I must also point out the irony of the song being called "United in Grief" while the hook goes "I grieve different."

A perfect introduction to a deeply conflicted record.

    He just confused, not conflicted.
I feel like there's a profile picture renaissance going on. Everybody's getting new and even personalized profile pictures, highlighting their individuality.

It makes me want to finally change my profile picture too

But sadly part of my branding is me being a shrimp in name only. I can't afford to have any media actually related to shrimp
That thread about sensitive subject matter reminded me of a debate I've been having with myself lately, regarding how much bad you can make your protagonist do before you lose your readers.

We all love flawed protagonists, and in some works, these protagonists can be straight up evil. But where's the line? :blob_hmm:

Of course it depends on the kind of story. If you're writing a dark fantasy, having your protagonist rip people's guts out might not be a turn-off for most readers. Meanwhile, if you're writing a cozy slice of life, readers might turn on you if your protagonist so much as pulls the chair on someone.

One thing's for sure, if you make your protagonist a rapist or a pedophile, you'll likely lose most of your readers (unless you are nisioisin and you're writing the Monogatari Series).

This could've been a thread, but that requires commitment, and I like the loose non-committal nature of the profile post :blob_hmm:
