When I spent a semester in the UK, I met the most ethnically ambiguous man I'd ever seen in my life. I could not for the life of me figure out his ancestry, whether from his appearance, name, or accent. What y'all know about Soremachi? It's a quaint little slice of life comedy anime, but what's even better is that it has a lovely little adult contemporary j-pop as its opening sung by none other than Maaya Sakamoto, a cover of a song from the 70s. Very charming tune, much like the anime itself.

I never really "got" FLCL, though I did enjoy it quite a bit. What I did get immediately, however, was just how much of a banger the soundtrack is.
One of the most legendary anime endings of all time by one of the country's most legendary alternative rock acts. What's not to love? Youthful, frenetic, bizarre, and undeniably cool. Like the show.

The only time I ever genuinely wished for an author to retcon their story was during the Railgun adaptation of the Sisters Arc. It already elevated itself way above the already good original Index version by telling it from Misaka's perspective (the perspective that actually matters), but they done blew the emotional payoff by not giving her a bigger role in the Accelerator fight.
