The only time I ever genuinely wished for an author to retcon their story was during the Railgun adaptation of the Sisters Arc. It already elevated itself way above the already good original Index version by telling it from Misaka's perspective (the perspective that actually matters), but they done blew the emotional payoff by not giving her a bigger role in the Accelerator fight.
The first opening is the perfect encapsulation of how hard Durarara FUCKS. Just 100% pure uncut CROCK. I can smell Ikebukuro at sundown just by listening to this song
When I was a kid, the local channel that aired shows like Spongebob and Naruto would actually not pause episodes during commercial breaks. So after a couple minutes of commercials, you'd go back to the show with a couple minutes of missing context.
Ping Pong the Animation is an incredible show with a transcendent opening song. Just pure, hard, and unapologetic rock with lyrics that resonate with the show's themes.
"There's probably nothing that only I can do, but no way I'm just gonna disappear without doing anything."
Male romcom manga protagonists be like "I'm an unpopular loner with no friends and no bitches this is my lot in life" while having a loyal childhood friend who unconditionally cares for them
Today's anisong is Rashisa, the everwarm opening to Barakamon. This song makes me feel human, no other way to put it. It's so comforting in sound and in message, like a bowl of miso soup in a home you know you can return to.
I've seen this sentiment floating around in the anime community that modern anime fans hate (straight) romance series, like it's a shift in the tides.
As a guy who reads a lot of romance manga and is also jaded as hell towards a lot of it, I can assure that that is not the case. A lot of romance manga is just slop. So much of it is ass.
We don't hate romance. We just hate—if I may say—heteroslop
I heard some kids were saying sombr's the reincarnation of Jeff Buckley, which like... I don't think being a hot skinny white boy who can sing makes you Jeff Buckley.
Anyway, Grace is one of the best-sounding rock albums I've listened to.
I've got like the weirdest mancrush on Cameron Winter of Geese fame. I am enamored by the man's face, stinky appearance, and unconventional voice and singing style. But I am a boy and will be punished.
I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna actually write today. I'm gonna do it.
A good friend gave me the incredibly obvious advice of "Oh you know just write even if it's messy and shitty. You can fix it later. That's what a first draft is, dumbfuck", so I'm going to write. I'm gonna do it. It'll be an elucidating experience for all parties involved
