I just had a coffee and it's making me feel like I'm in a David Lynch movie. I've never watched a David Lynch movie, but this song is how I imagine a David Lynch movie would feel like. The bassline creeps like a spider under your skin, and Michael Gira's chanting feels like the voices in your head telling you to cut your own arm off or something.
I would just recommend the regular When I'm Gone, but I genuinely think the Dango Daikazoku instrumental elevates the song. In fact, I think I've maybe listened to the original once. Meanwhile, this mashup has been with me since middleschool.
I've also never watched Clannad because I don't want to risk it not being as good as I imagine it to be.
