The Hecker and Koch 416 AKA the HK416 is an assault rifle who's roots is traced to the M4, you can already tell it by it's appearance. The German company collaborated with the famed US 1st Special Operations Unit Detachment Delta or Delta force for it's development. The later wanting a more robust and reliable firearm than the standard M4.
Surprising Gun Fact #9: The M82 .50 Caliber Anti Material Rifle by Barrett has special rounds called SLAP rounds or Saboted Light Armor Penetrator. It basically functions the same way a APFSDS shell would in a tank. It is also available in a wide range of calibers from 5.56, 7.62, 30-06, 30-30, and even 9 x 19mm
Surprising Gun Fact #8: People in media and also normal people call whatever is the propellant for the cartridges as "Gunpowder". While technically true, if you lived back in 19th century, anyone with knowledge on firearms would say that modern cartridges use a mixture called smokeless powder.
Surprising Gun Fact #7: Mikhail Kalashnikov, the creator of the AK-47, loved his invention but regretted its widespread use by terrorists and insurgents. He designed it to protect the motherland, not to become a symbol of violence and suffering. Interesting Gun Facts #6: The 1960s saw a lot of advances in firearms design. One of which straight up sounded Sci Fi. The Gyrojet is an interesting little pistol that does not use your standard propellant. The bullets themselves have small rockets that twist and propel the bullet to it's target.

Surprising Gun Fact #2: The MG3 of the german bundeswehr is literally the same as the MG42 used in ww2. The only difference is the MG3 has a lower firerate (1100 compared to 1300 rounds) and the MG3 chambers the standardized 7.62 x 51mm NATO round compared to the 9mm Mauser the MG42 used. MG3 is basically the Nerfed version of the MG42.
