The site seriously censor my chapter title?

Well.

On one hand, over censorship by smacking the letter combinations down in one go.

On the other hand, human ingenuity and rebellious childish notions go hand in hand.

Either way, this is a site thing and if other sites other than this one are less ax-crazy, then good for them.

I have been and continue will be facepalming at the censorship in both NovelUpdates (the OG site) and ScribbleHub, but it is what it is.

Or you can try "Cherry Blossom D(Non-Con)ed in Glamour"
I just used 'Covered,' LMAO

Damn...can't even stay safe from stupid AI censorship here.

I'm playing a game right now where the word "grape" is censored.
Reminds me of Dark Souls, in a medieval fantasy setting, censoring the word Knight into K***ht. But only when players are knights, works just fine for NPCs.

You would use draped?

I'd say, I'd put him in his bathrobe. Or put on his bathrobe.

Draped is like a typical word I know the meaning of, but would never actively use on my own. If you like classical literature, that might be different, but from my TV series/movie/YouTube/gaming space, where I learned English, I can't recall ever hearing it.
100% AI. You are definitely right on that account. :meowsip:

"Draped in glamour" sounds enticing to me. Screw young people. They think they know everything, and they know nothing about anything.

Don't blame the author for a half-baked, faulty content control. This happened because someone has a half-assed knowledge of REGEX syntax. It's not the fault of the author.

I don't think anyone here is blaming me, dude. But thanks for the vote of confidence!

Everyone's ragging on your word choice. I like your word choice. I think it's creative.
Yeah, being called AI from the get go is WILD, dude. And all I did was wanting cool titles for my chapter, bruh. But Assur uses AI cover art, so I guess they just assume everyone else is using AI as well. 😭
You can look at my other titles and see for yourself if it's AI or not.

Damn, I missed the opportunity to reply with the most recent time I used the word draped in my story.

Anyway, I’m gonna be honest. I’ve never understood this weird pseudo censorship thing as a concept. Like, does anyone on this planet (that speaks English) not know what I mean if I write the word r*pe? Does this measurably reduce the actual distress anyone emotionally triggered by this topic experiences? Is a child exposed to the partially censored word any less likely to have an awkward conversation with a parent?

When someone does it voluntarily as a way to… idk, symbolically censor themselves? I think it’s silly but whatever. It’s a stylistic choice meant to convey additional meaning. But an automated system doing it just seems… really weird. Just block the whole damn word if it’s that important. Swapping out a single letter accomplishes nothing. To be clear I’m against censorship in general, but censorship that doesn’t even censor anything pisses me off by being dumb AND ineffective!

It's a moderating shortcut meant to reduce reporting load on the site's owner, man.
It's just not implemented properly or too fachisistic, so innocent words got caught in the crossfire too.

… What? Do people actually report things less often if there are stars injected into it? I’m… so confused.

It's just a preventative thing. Just like how Roblox censor the hell out of anything and everything that might even hint of something parents would complain about in the game.

But of course, it idiotically would make people think of the word "rape" in "draped" because of this nonsense. So, I suppose it backfires. 😂

Yeaaaah the fact you bring up Roblox as your example, which has… so many problems far worse than naughty words? Yeah, sounds like they are doing both too much on stuff that doesn’t matter and not enough on kids getting groomed.

Kinda doubling down on my “this makes no f*cking sense as a baseline concept” point. But I’ll stop harping on it after this message. I don’t think I’m likely to find an answer that makes any of this seem less stupid to me, or justify the heavy handedness that causes poor innocent words like draped to catch strays in the first place.

Stop fear mongering.
This has been a thing for years now. You don't need to make up shit to atribute to already shitty AI.

For those unaware - yes. Explicit words do get censored.
No. It's not 'suddenly' here.
It's been here for at least since I joined which was around 3 years ago.
Don't accuse me of something I'm not doing. Don't make up shit about me.

I just mentioned a similar experience. You even playing Soulmask? Coz that's where I encountered similar experience.

Stupid moderator. Do your role better.

Yeah, everyone always doggin of Roblox for "being a haven" for such creatures.

But honestly, I'm pretty sure it's cause it's a MASSIVE pain in the ass to moderate all the billions of lines of chats per month they're otherwise expected to cover. So they decided to take the easy route and does that nonsensical age verification that can easily be fooled by Garry's Mod footage.

Either that, or they hire thousands to sift through the endless slush pile for anything incriminating and spend millions that could be better spent on buying yachts for the founders.

Mine's a problem with how I organize things in my game. I pile up storages, type in labels, then voila!

Grapes become G💛💛💛💛s in-game, which kinda sucks, because I want my storages labeled properly.

In case some idiot accused me again of making up stories. Game is Soulmask, and I'm in solo player mode.

Tell me the last time you used draped in one of your stories or in real life.

Uh drapes, you know, heavy curtains. A commonplace word for any thermal or blackout curtains, used in a large part of america I'm pretty sure but also from where I am.

Theres also just generally the expression 'does the curtain match the drapes' which is a suggestive slang expression, which again, is still an in-use expression.

There isn't even one 'niche' usage case for this, but at least three

Anyway this is a reminder that microsoft; minecraft, banned the word 'japan' because it contained the first three letters, which was assumed to be a shorthand insult regarding the race itself and not the country.

Regex usually is stupid and can't account for every edge case, and so must assume things and it's up to humans to actually think when they encounter something outside of that.

Is "draped" an archaic term? I wouldn't say so, because I use it as well. And no, it's not a translation (if anything, I'm currently translating the English version into my native language). So there's that. :blob_cookie:
Even if it was archaic, it's a chapter title. They're probably the most acceptable place to have flowery language. Having them be modern conversationalist in tone would be the more jarring of the two.

Though this is coming from a girl who titles her chapters things like "Teknonymy" and "Saccading", so I might be a little biased. Still not wrong though. :blob_evil:

No, no. You see, it is a word that has fallen out of use amongst the commoners. Hence, such a word may only be uttered by AI.
For we have progress beyond the need for such a word, and any attempt to use such pedantry must be a ruse made to trick us into thinking that the author was more sophisticated than they actually are.
Meh, its simple.
The one who think Drapes is archaic are native english speaker.
The one who think its normal are non-engarish peeps
Yeah, you got me. English is my third language.

Fancy seeing you here, btw.

Yeah, I like cool titles with a nice chapter art to go along with them. It gives the story a sense of budget y'know?
