Future planning as a new writer, please help

Finally... 10 k words completed, My goal of writing this story was,
(i) to gather experience and know how these things work (primary objective)
(ii) Second objective - Know how to market a story
(iii) Third objective - If possible, make some money out of it

So far I've realized my writing style needs work, I need to add more descriptions, So implemented that from chapter 07-08 and rewrote chapters 01,02 and 03. Still working on chapter 04, 05, 06

And started a patreon, no members yet. So I have an idea how that works too. I have published this in SH, Royal Road and Wattpad and pretty much realized which sites have a good exposure. So primary objective = Complete

Still struggling with the second objective, finding the right audience and marketting it. I have 4 reviews on RR and 3/4 of them said "This is usally not my kind of story- But I'll review it" Same here too in feedback forum. So I first need to find people reading this kind of stories.

Third objective - What I'm farthest from

I have a second story too. A long one I'm planning to serialize. Which is more serious story that "I refuse to Level up (Don't ask my sister's opinion on this)" I was writing that for 1.5 yrs now. And too hesitant to publish yet. I have enough finished content for 100 chapters probably (Way more uneditied content.). For that story primary objective is to earn money. Also the story is too long that I can turn character backstories into full short stories... And publish them as prequels.

So any advice on that? And also about this story. If I didn't upload"I refuse to level up" now, I'd be procastinating that story too. But since other story I plan to earn money, hesitant to publish without knowledge on deals and sites etc.

If you want money, write for the audience, that means you will have to cycle dopamine rush in just 5 chapters of 2k words. If it doesn't hit, it will be forgotten.
And for publishing - I'd say publish more and more, nobody really cares until you make it. We missed the pandemic times where everyone is online. You can also try to do shoutouts in royalroad but you will be very disappointed on that.
Also learn to edit your works. Even putting it on Grammarly would suffice for now.

Your list of goals doesn't include learning how to write.

Definitely an over-rated skill.

Your goal is to make money. With the 10,000 words you're diddling. Right?

There are faster, easier ways to make money. Waiting on tables. Pumping gasoline. Bagging groceries.

It isn't a creative writing plan; it's a fiction marketing plan. I have no advice for you, as I write fiction for fun (at the moment). If you're wondering about fiction marketing plans, ask authors who have proven track records of making money from their writing like @Corty and @RepresentingEnvy

If you're looking for publishing sites and arenas where you could market your work, you can try numerous magazines that pay for quality fiction. Off the top of my head, places I've connected with are Clarkesworld, Asimov’s Science Fiction, and Lightspeed for short fiction.
But you want to really go after the publications that match the kind of work you do. Places like GlobalComix and Tapas have a place for authors, and you can get paid through advertising revenues generated.
I've never really been brave enough to try publishing to a huge audience like that. I gave it a try with a few novels but...there's just so much competition out there now, unless you're married to a high-powered advertising exec (case in point, "50 Shades of Grey" hack, E.L. James), it's REALLY going to be a chore. But I wish you luck.

Forget about making money until you have thousand(s) of views on every new chapter, and crowds begging for the next chapter. I don't think even 1% of scribblehub authors are making money from it. It's far from easy, but good luck. Personally, when I see people try to write "to make money", it almost never happens. Or it happens after several years of grinding and multiple stories
