Is uploading 1 chapter per week enough? in my Story

I'm barely balancing it. I had a stack of chapters in advance, but they are all short and LN like style that many people here didn't actually like. So before uploading I have to go through an entire editing process, (Those chapters are almost useless without editing :blob_teary: , I realized only after hearing feedback from readers on chapter 01 and02 etc.)

What can I DO! :blob_teary::blob_teary::blob_teary:

I can however maintain one chapter per week though, after balancing time with my work hours

What are your ideas and opinion on this

One chap a week works out fine. A lot of people keep a similar shedule.

Some do more some do less but rather then doing more or less it's far more important to pick a regular shedule up and stick to it.

The stats are okay. Nothing outstanding but not bad either, I'd say average, a lot of people here only start seriously following a story when it has far more chapters or it has a proper update shedule that has been proven that the writer reliably sticks to it.

I do 1 a week myself on Sundays. It works fine; If you see writing as a hobby and not a chore (I hope), writing little by little (concepts, future chapter ideas) in your free time will give you enough content to fill at least 1 decent chapter a week (1500+); even better if you have a backlog. I have stuff all the way into my second arc, and scheduling releases gives me plenty of leniency too. Don't pull your hair out about it and do things at your own pace.

You're doing fine. Just keep poking away at it, and enjoy the process.

It varies a lot. I sometimes forget about my works on SH and then it clicks, "Oh, crap, I should update that now, it's been weeks."

I feel like this type of writing would be easier for me to balance with my work.

Like writing around 100,000 words at once when I get free time (Like Volume 01) and uploading as a 'book' instead of chapterwise uploads then after a long time upload 100,000 words (Next volume) etc.

Is there any alternatives?

I looked at KDP and Moonquill

What are your experiences at those? Like If I could finish vol 1 can I upload it in KDP and hopefully get views and purchases? If someone is using KDP what stratergies you follow

Enough for what?

What are your goals?

Just release however many chapters you feel comfortable.

If you want to turn this into a business, I think your entire approach needs adjustment.

I'd say you are doing fine, though. First story, some readers, certainly not the worst start I've seen. Just keep up the good work.

It really depends on your goals overall, but stats wise, things look fine to me. It's your first series, and so far is doing fairly well.
If you're able to manage one chapter a week, then that would probably be the ideal. Don't push yourself too hard, or you'll risk burning yourself out.
Your chapters are short on average, but that's fine if that's what you're aiming for.
As a point of reference though, most light-novel chapters average out to about 2500 words each, so if you're aiming specifically for that style, you may want to set this as a rough length goal.

Next bit of advice; stop worrying about having to edit your earlier chapters. That isn't a bad thing. In fact, the editing process is something you should definitely consider working into your release schedule.

While we do have significantly different authorial styles (and chapter densities), it may help you to know that I spend at least a week (per chapter) just on the editing and revision process before release, and my own release schedule happens to be one chapter per month.

Based on your average chapter length, and the one chapter / week release schedule you're considering, I'd suggest the following:
2 days for writing, at ~650 words / day. Then the rest of the available time on editing and polishing for release.
If you decide to bump your goal up to 2500 words / chapter, you can manage that during your own editing and revision process, otherwise, you'll want to focus on at least ~550 words / day for most of the week, and spend the weekends on editing before release.

The overall editing process I use is while I'm re-reading my rough draft, I'm asking myself one paragraph at a time "How can I improve this section?" and I'm re-writing it one paragraph, scene, or segment at a time.

Hope all of this helps.
