Fiery (Pink/ red/ NOT orange) spicy
Blondes (yellow/gold) sexy
Dark (blue/ indigo/ purple) lusty
Mystical (Silver/ white/ grey) always peak
Brunettes (Black/ copper/ brown) beautiful

(Just me ranting)
The main difference between these, is normalization, and the psyche of ordinary people. Brunette is "normal" in the sense that, in fiction, anything is possible, so why Brunette? Darker hair is most often for the 'main' character, who's there for the MAIN main character (who gets to unravel through the series, and give the story actual depth). The 'main' character is a stand-in for self inserts: The sad otaku wishing to find love, the one person who feels left out, the one having family issues, the character being tied more heavily to reality. Almost npc-like going through the series as a reactive,1-way street, camera lens kind of character than a fully fleshed out one. Blonde is also a natural IRL hair color much like brunette, but often gets the unrealistic "huge boobs/ natural talent" or unfair "bimbo/ himbo" cliche personalities tagged to their forehead, even throwing in villainous, or b*tchy, attitude at times.. and it makes blonde seem more fictional, and unrealistic when blondes are in fact just as real as brunettes; The same way redheads are presented as raging, passionate, driven, and often warrior queens, and kings of street brawls. The fact that these three aren't on equal footing in fiction as they are in reality is a bummer. Tropes that should have been broken a long time ago.

Also screw green hair. -on that point, screw most other colors as well. Half the time when a series says "colored hair" they mean black with a thin colored outline, and a light splash of highlights. So lame.

DYED HAIR MEANS DYED HAIR!!!

It really depends on the character.
For a female lead (in this order):
  1. Red; specifically a deep crimson (IE: Rubedo, Rias, etc etc)
  2. Black (IE: Morrigan)
  3. Indigo (IE: Lucina)
  4. Ginger (or a lighter red-orange)
  5. Copper / Tawny Brown (IE: Makoto Kino)
For a male lead, I'm far less picky, but tend to favor more "natural" hair colors.

I'm obsessed with pink hair on characters. Almost all my stories have at least one character with pink hair. (Though only one is the protagonist)

Red, Silver, Gold, White and Black, and many more that you don't list like Magenta, Ice Blue(?), Twilight Blue, Cardinal Red, and... that's it then

Those are derived colors. You can mix colors to create their composition. If I included all the derived colors, there would be hundreds of options.

No metal? No living snakes?

Can't really answer this one - there are a lot of redheads in my stories but they're rarely the MC. Most of my MCs have darker hair but not all.

Green is rare and fun, especially the ligther tones. Also pretty rare, it's always dark green or straight up blue instead of light green.

Gray and white are simply superior to silver and metallic.

Don't get me started on pink, tho. That cursed colour is for pushovers or psychos. Or both.
