When I released chapter 12, I realized that there were things I needed to adjust in the previous chapters to maintain consistency in the writing and the story.

I only edited when I realized I hated my first chapter.
I was just mind dumping for the first few uploads,
Now, I'm 50+ chapters in and thought, "I didn't care about my writing at first, and it looks horrible. I should fix it." but I didn't fix any continuity errors. How they are, are how they are. I just wrapped my bad chapter with a bow to make it look pretty; Spacing, and paragraphs. It was also like 8k words. I try to manage my chapters to (+/-)2k words to keep them digestible, so I cut it in half, and erased boring useless paragraphs that served no purpose.

The minute I put the first word on the first page. Are there really writers out there publishing their work without even thinking about editing it?

No, silly. Talk to me, are you okay?

Obviously, not everyone is a writing genius. Many just want to express their ideas and stories, share them with other people. And little by little, they learn to write better.
Surely, from the time you wrote your first chapter to your 100th, you saw the difference in how you improved at narrating and writing.

Do you understand what I mean?

No, I don't. Literally nothing you just said had anything to do with what I said.

I love it, these are the kinds of experiences I wanted to hear about.
I'm sure many people share what happened to you, but everyone experiences it differently, which makes it special.
Thank you so much for sharing. :blob_happy:

When I reread my writing and feel like I need adjustments to achieve a better writing standard, you know... authors' writing skills improve over time. You might wince when rereading old chapters. I'm also rewriting Volume 1, which still feels rough, while also trying to finish Volume 2, which is nearing its climactic final arc. But of course, it's not easy and drains my creative energy.

Good luck with both volumes. I love your commitment!

Same. Editing is draining, and makes me second guess everything written.
After the 3rd or 4th time reading the same joke, or reading the same action sequence, I start to think.. is it really that funny? is that sequence really that action-y? And I end up erasing them; Overthinking, and whatever. So, I focus on grammar, and punctuation while writing. Spellcheck, and upload. Let it sit, and continue next chapter. I'll edit when it's complete.
Maybe by then everything will feel fresh enough in my mind to really edit looking back like:
"Oh whoa! I really wrote that?!" vs "oh.. Whoa.. I really wrote that??"

Exactly! For example, i had something in chapter 7 that i didn't want people to understand in an obscene way, so i rewrote it in a cleaner way.
When i went back to review chapter 1, realized that i had already written it in a way that seemed obscene... so I was like, “oh no.” ??
