How many times have you had a new cover made for one of your books? For me, The Slayer and the Sphinx holds the record with six covers for a two-book series.
The first one was commissioned by Kory Bing, artist of the webcomic Skin Deep.
But her prices were really high, and the art wasn't the same quality as her comic, so I found another artist who took commissions for cheaper and had him draw a new cover for book 1, and also one for book 2.
Like I said...he was cheap. He also fell off the face of the earth after I got the second cover, so I found someone else who could replicate his style for the third book.
Eventually I found the artist I'm still using today, and had her redraw the covers for both books (I also combined books 1 and 2 into a single book)
The only other book I published that had more than cover was Juryokine. Same story as The Slayer and the Sphinx, I had a cheap artist throw together a crappy cover, and then had my current artist redo it a few years later.
