Spammers?

I've just published the first few chapters of my book, but I've already got 3 comments from people that seem not so genuine. Once you respond they offer to do some visualisation for you. I'm assuming this is a scam or just marketing. Anyone else experienced this?

Definitely a scam yes. Best case scenario they are human artist looking for new authors. (One fresh from the grid with ambition and money). To convince them to buy thier art. (Which sometimes doesn't even belong to them). So it's a scam in all ways possible if you ask me

Yep, the comments were so generic, and claiming they found emotion in my writing. Thing is my writing is not going to evoke strong emotions in people, it isn't the intent with what I've written so far. I've left the comments on my chapter, because at least it looks like engagement, lol.

The only engagement i got since my return after my leave in 2021. Was a similar one. It wasn't even a comment, it was a whole in site email thing. A girl claiming she liked my idea and wanted permission to use it as inspiration. So she gave me her discord and after the first question "whatever this is paid". She said yes.

Like people. You don't ask for permission from someone to make them pay? Yes, you have to be a bit shameless if you are doing online services. But that was simply too much.

(It was a novel i started a couple of monthes ago. But the protagonist type was so hard for me go write after so much time without writing. I am fully committed to my current one tho thankfully)

Most skilled artists have a waiting list. You should be wary of ANY artist who is begging you for work, especially if they claim that they have read your work and can "improve it with visual designs."

Don't fall for it. Most likely, you will lose your money and get a piece of AI art in return... or get outright ghosted.

Especially after the 3rd one claiming that they found your work super amazing, etc, all with non specific generic words.

Oh no -the emotion they found they brought with them: greed.
(Two out of three times so far, I got them to stop bothering me by asking "Which story are you referring to?" ... and one I just laughed at, literally as the story referenced is just sample chapters of other stories... One did actually get into a dialogue, and even sent me a link to a gallery page... where the art was good but completely the wrong style for the story).
