There was a guy who argued on Reddit that it is easy to succeed on the Royal Road ...@Corty yeah, the last sentence from Johnny doesn't make any sense. I'm starting to wonder if RR has a group of people that rotate in as Moderator John. Or I wonder if they play nicer if you send money to become a member author in their site.
The bullshit keeps piling up with RR.
You don't get it white knight, do you?So if I didn't get it wrong, you submitted the wiki, which only contains info from the original in a wiki format.
Let me put you in Moderator John's POV:
You get a submission but all it has is a wiki/documentary, there's no fictional story whatsoever.
You check the link and see there's around 20 chapters available, but you're not reviewing the author's entire book, that's not your responsibility, you only review their submissions, so you assume that the 20 chapters or so is similar to the chapter submitted by the author, a wiki.
You reject the submission because it has to be a fictional story based on the rules and not a wiki of the original franchise.
So yeah, that's totally on you @Corty. It's a misunderstanding on their side, true, but that just means they didn't put in anymore efforts than what is required from them.

Yeah, but they then reject books that are too NSFW? So, do they check story content now or not? Well, I expected too much competence for a paid worker to verify incoming submissions as per his job description. It only takes at max, two clicks. 1: checking the link, scrolling down and 2: randomly clicking on another chapter, maybe, to see I am not going to submit hardcore muffin porn.So yeah, that's totally on you @Corty. I remember the good old days when all you needed to do was write in the synopsis the email to the moderator and saying "Yes. I am author of this novel. Please Sir, can you let us on your platform?"As I said, I have a responsibility because it was the wiki, as that is my first chapter for obvious reasons, instead of writing a whole prologue with an info dump.
But my assumption was they would check out the original listing to verify I was not stealing the story.
It is true, I am Michael Jackson.@Anon2025 Is it true?![]()
What about Jordan? It is true, I am Michael Jackson.
The entire site has the same attitude. They don't like doing any actual work that would help the users on site...Yeah, but they then reject books that are too NSFW? Jordan is Jordinio. What about Jordan?
If so, make it so that RR will go without the wiki. Simple as.As I said, I have a responsibility because it was the wiki, as that is my first chapter for obvious reasons, instead of writing a whole prologue with an info dump.

I'll just re-arrange it after, which defeats the whole purpose of needing moderation and review. If so, make it so that RR will go without the wiki. Simple as.
Imma say this now, as I always say before...TLDR:
Corty submitted the wiki as the first chapter and caused a misunderstanding that the whole story is just a wiki of the original Star Wars.
(just saying, but they're not required to read past the submitted content to verify the ownership of the story. )
@beast_regards @SailusGebel @Corty @Paul_Michaels @Prince_Azmiran_Myrian @Hans.Trondheim
I would understand if it wouldn't only take one scrolling down with a mouse wheel when they already require me to submit a ticket for proof of ownership. They need to scroll down to validate my claim as I put the edited proof into the synopsis as required AT THE END OF IT. And if they are on a 1080p monitor, they need to scroll down to find it right above the chapter lists.(just saying, but they're not required to read past the submission to verify the ownership of the story. )
What is this.... Bribe you speak of? Is it some Magical artifact that allows us authors to reach heights that we could only dream of?There was a guy who argued on Reddit that it is easy to succeed on the Royal Road ...
His guide involved a month of gathering favours from authors doing review from one account, then asking them to join and vote him up once his story arrives from different accounts, then, offering the 10% of his Patreon to Royal Road as the sign of gratitude as this way it won't rule violation.
It's called "bribe" in other languages.
Or, alternatively, you could tell Moderator John to mind his own business, as none of this nonsense is relevant when his income is calculated from ad revenue based on traffic.I'll just re-arrange it after, which defeats the whole purpose of needing moderation and review.
I am more interested in the following. You submit a wiki, it doesn't necesserily mean you are the author. You could've easily stolen it. So how are they saying, yep that's the book based on possibly stolen wiki?I would understand if it wouldn't only take one scrolling down with a mouse wheel when they already require me to submit a ticket for proof of ownership. They need to scroll down to validate my claim as I put the edited proof into the synopsis as required. And if they are on 1080p, they need to scroll down to find it right above the chapter lists.
Probably. There is no reading involved; only looking at it with your eyes. Well, Johnny is an Amazon employee so he probably doing it while being watched by a Bezos-bot for productivity.I am more interested in the following. You submit a wiki, it doesn't necesserily mean you are the author. You could've easily stolen it. So how are they saying, yep that's the book based on possibly stolen wiki? How are they approving the story is yours, but at the same time saying it's not fiction... Doesn't these two things invalidate each other? What if I steal an essay on, let's say neurobiology, post it here, and then crosspost it on RR. Are they going to say it is mine, but it's not fiction?
