I have a bit of responsibility here submitting the first chapter, too, because I dared assume they checked the source. Still, I thought if I linked the original, they could see I had 19 chapters lining up, but they didn't even check the proof I had given. Then Johnny just went, sure, then it is a story, I guess; heck, that's why I opened a support ticket for them with all the proof they require as per their rules ask for... If they don't check it out, why do they require me to submit it?

Anyway, I hope it gets rejected a second time now because I did not include the proof of ownership and links to SH when resubmitting it with a different chapter.

It's almost humorous how totally disinterested they are in the fiction, or the entire creation process, yet they somehow maintain the site dedicated to something they both hate and couldn't be bothered to understand. Entire site is the complete cynical cash grab that doesn't care about anything but the money from the big corporation, that constantly insults and belittles its user base, and that assuming they even show up to their job in the given day.

Yet, they have near complete monopoly over a whole "free novel site" and most likely aren't going to lose it unless the corporation withdraws their backing.

So if I didn't get it wrong, you submitted the wiki, which only contains info from the original in a wiki format.

Let me put you in Moderator John's POV:

You get a submission but all it has is a wiki/documentary, there's no fictional story whatsoever.

You check the link and see there's around 20 chapters available, but you're not reviewing the author's entire book, that's not your responsibility, you only review their submissions, so you assume that the 20 chapters or so is similar to the chapter submitted by the author, a wiki.

You reject the submission because it has to be a fictional story based on the rules and not a wiki of the original franchise.

So yeah, that's totally on you @Corty. It's a misunderstanding on their side, true, but that just means they didn't put in anymore efforts than what is required from them.

As I said, I have a responsibility because it was the wiki, as that is my first chapter for obvious reasons, instead of writing a whole prologue with an info dump.

But my assumption was they would check out the original listing to verify I was not stealing the story.
