I made a mistake; they're actually noodles, not spaghetti, and this, combined with the fact that I couldn't find the ingredients I was looking for, forced me to change my plans. Fortunately, for the better.
Recently, I discovered a Chinese store somewhat nearby that sells unique Asian food items, a blessing for an Asiaphile like me. That's where I found these matcha noodles. I must say, they're better than I expected.
I ended up making ramen instead. Concerned that my usual broth would be too spicy, I decided to experiment with something I had never tried before. I made a very delicate broth, reducing the spices to a minimum, and added finely sliced radicchio and sugarloaf chicory. Then I took a leap: I dissolved about a teaspoon of matcha in a bit of the broth before mixing it into the entire pot. Finally, I cooked the matcha noodles for three minutes.
I had never used matcha to cook savory dishes before, and I must say, the matcha ramen turned out pretty good.
In honor of Mama, I boiled some sweet potatoes (my favorite), cut them into pieces, and used them as a side dish, dipping them into the fondue. Delicious.
I also made tamagoyaki.
For dessert, since I couldn't find mascarpone, I made hot white chocolate with matcha and used it as a sauce to dip panettone into.
To drink, I mixed beer and soju.
