Things I'll definitely see at my family's potluck: pineapple ham, macaroni salad, roast pork shoulder, and rice with pigeon peas or rice and beans.

Things I might see: potato salad, cornbread, baked sweet potato with marshmallow on top, meat skewers, and possibly other dishes.

Too cheapskate.
Next year, just buy some of that frozen garlic bread from the supermarket and put it in the oven at around the same time you order the pizza. Who the hell prioritizes spicy drumlets over garlic bread when eating pizza? Its like you decided to go sailing, built the ship but didn't add any sails to it.

I had to do a double take, matcha spaghetti is actually a thing that exists?! 0_0

I made a mistake; they're actually noodles, not spaghetti, and this, combined with the fact that I couldn't find the ingredients I was looking for, forced me to change my plans. Fortunately, for the better.

Recently, I discovered a Chinese store somewhat nearby that sells unique Asian food items, a blessing for an Asiaphile like me. That's where I found these matcha noodles. I must say, they're better than I expected.

I ended up making ramen instead. Concerned that my usual broth would be too spicy, I decided to experiment with something I had never tried before. I made a very delicate broth, reducing the spices to a minimum, and added finely sliced radicchio and sugarloaf chicory. Then I took a leap: I dissolved about a teaspoon of matcha in a bit of the broth before mixing it into the entire pot. Finally, I cooked the matcha noodles for three minutes.

I had never used matcha to cook savory dishes before, and I must say, the matcha ramen turned out pretty good.

In honor of Mama, I boiled some sweet potatoes (my favorite), cut them into pieces, and used them as a side dish, dipping them into the fondue. Delicious.

I also made tamagoyaki.

For dessert, since I couldn't find mascarpone, I made hot white chocolate with matcha and used it as a sauce to dip panettone into.

To drink, I mixed beer and soju.

Rating: 7.5/8 out of 10.

New Years Eve was pizza and New Years Day is leftover Pizza with Ice Cream Cake.
It's my eldest's B-Day today so she got to choose the food. Her initial choice was to go out to East Side Mario's (an Italian restaurant if folks are unfamiliar with it) but then she remembered it's New Years Day and that it will be full of people.

From a google search, matcha pesto pasta is a thing that actually exists... sounds more appetizing than turning it into ramen, but your noodles seem more suitable for the latter anyways :blob_sweat: Sounds delicious nevertheless, good thing you had the will to make all of that. I just made the shrimp and ordered the rest of what I had.

Gotta say the plain rice with the tears of children didnt taste as delicious as their blood, and I'm not even a vampire

6.9/10
Probably a mess-up in preparing the ingredients, the one who extracted the tears must have not been very skilled. Tears have a much richer flavor than blood, not to mention the blood of children is too sweet to be anywhere near plain rice.

I had some cabbage. Bloody cabbages
So, kimchi?
