If the characters sexuality is the focus, then it would have to be pretty short for me to read and finish, unless there is some compelling theme and interesting plot with good characterization. Most stories that focus on the characters sexuality tend to be boring as hell.

The idea of a MC with serious gender issues reminded me of a manga I read years ago and all I remember now about it is the giraffe.

Looked it up. Manga titled After School Nightmare.

The sex of the mc is not the issue. It is also not the main plot point of the story but it can affect how the mc interact with certain characters. Will you have any issue with that? This is what I want to know.

What are your thought on an action battle shounen series that has the protagonist that is neither male or female?
My thought is, gender is the least interesting aspect of a person.
I am talking about the case where the mc is
(1) a hermaphrodite (having reproductive organs of both sexes) or
(2) is lacking genitals and mammary glands.
What is your opinion?
I don't care.

Do you prefer an action protag with traditional sex instead (either male or female)?
I prefer a well written protag. Again, Sex and Gender are the least interest aspects of a person. I have written stories where I never DESCRIBE the MC. I find descriptions to be nothing but FLUFF. A necessary evil to be avoided as much as possible. Your dependence on labels and gimmicks means that your Kung-Fu is weak.

Do you dislike a protag with such special trait?
I usually dislike protags when they are poorly written and unlikable.

In case you were asking "why does the protag in such a battle series have either both genital types or neither of them?"
Never crossed my mind.
