Little sad, but still, the fact that it would become that popular probably means it's better written, so I'd be glad to have my setting be interesting enough to have a good story written using it. I could always try writing something new, and assuming that they properly state that it's a fanfiction, there'll probably be a few people who decide to check out the original.

It's usually for the best to not correct people who are wrong on the Internet. It never helps. It's always not that easy to do the best thing.

On the other hand, for the good faith fanfiction, having someone invested in your story is usually a first sign of having actual fans.

That's why I said it was excerpts and it could also be as in schools of philosophy or literature,fishes and etc.(not just meant for children)

But real talk tho, my novel has a setting where it'd veeeery easy to make a fanfiction with more mass appeal than the novel itself. It just won't happen because it isn't very popular in the first place.

The closest thing I came to this is that someone translated it into Russian. It feels good. I wish it to you all, with a little difference. I wish that you are asked for permission first.

Now, if there is ever a fanfic of any of my stories, I will probably bake cheese bread for a whole week to celebrate! =) (I can't eat muffins anymore, doctor's orders.)
