You let your family/friends/co-workers/that guy down the street read your story or you don't because they might not understand

I wouldn't tell my family if I made a sandwich, let alone a novel. Our area's culture is far too obsessed with judging and one-upping (or putting-down) each other. For one example, I took a national test and was told by the school principal that I had scored the highest in the school's history, it even made the local news, and I still was lambasted by family over it. Even being #1 isn't good enough. You can't please some people if they've already decided how to feel. At least if I don't tell them about the novels, they won't be able to use its content as ammo.

I don't. Don't need them to.
No doing that would be a death sentence! :blobrofl:

My dad thinks of my writing as a joke because I am dyslexic and struggled heavily with literature and vocabulary in Elementary school. He was super strict about the direction of my life and sabotaged my attempts to move out or pursue college.

Mom wasn't much better. She was a bully, gossiping to her friends about me, picking on my looks and giving me makeovers through KY adolescents so that kids would like me

As for my siblings, I have a restraining order for my oldesiblings. I get along well with my baby brother, well he's not a baby anymore but he'll always be my baby brother :blob_gift: but Ahem... I still wouldn't share my stories with him. My work is smut-based and I don't shy away from the intimate details... thats not something I want my friends or family to read and know it's coming from me :blob_happy:

Proud of my work, no doubt! If my brother or friends came to find out, well nothing else to do but to own it. Besides, my work isn't purely smut and those who are following Tale of Tails know this :blob_shade:
